Come join 75 regional teams in the longest running and largest local Thanksgiving Boys Basketball Tournament.

***8th Grade tryouts to be held in 1st week of October
There will be two tryouts per age group. You are encouraged to make both tryout days but it is mandatory to make one of the days if you would like to play with JBA in the 2011/12 season. The plan is for the JHS staff to run the kids through drills and organized scrimmages, while coaches evaluate the players in their given age group. We currently working to run the 8th grade try-outs the first week of October and will follow up when we finalize the details. Decisions will be made quickly on the teams and players (all that tryout) will receive calls within three days of the final tryout by the coach of their respective team.
Please note a parent must be present when signing in your child for try-outs. In an effort to expedite registration, all of the forms have been attached for your review and can be filled out prior to arriving. All paperwork will be verified at the door before your child is allowed to participate. Please arrive early to allow for time to check in. Balls will be provide for the try-outs. Kids should come prepared to play for the full 1.5 hours, dressed in basketball attire / shoes, and bring any hydration they would like during the tryout. Breaks will be limited. This weekend we will be on the far two courts from the main entrance of the Juanita field house. The near courts will be being used by the Juanita Girls Basketball program for their tryouts.

JBA Tryout Update:Finn Hill Jr. High (JBA’s home gym) is still not ready for occupancy. For those that have driven past it on the hill here, you may have noticed they are still working to get the school construction complete. We continue to work with the school to get updates but it looks like the gym opening is still several weeks out.
The JBA board is working with other facilities now to firm up our tryout schedule and early season practice schedule. At this time it looks like the earliest tryouts will begin is the weekend of September 24th / 25th. We will likely use a number of other local facilities (JHS, Kamiakin Jr. High, KBGC, and others). We will try to give all age groups a week notice prior to their tryouts so that you can plan accordingly to attend. We should have another update out by the weekend.

Tryouts for the 5th – 9th grade JBA 2011-2012 teams are scheduled to take place the week of September 19th, (with final dates and times still to be determined).
Tryouts will be conducted by the Juanita High School coaching staff with practices to begin soon after. The session dates will be posted as soon as they are confirmed, so check back regularly for times and locations or send an email to juanitabasketball@live.com if you wish to be added to our JBA mailing list. We will send out regular program updates including the tryout information as it comes available.
