Jr. Greyhound Middle School Lacrosse Program

Beginning with the Spring 2010 season, the Georgia Middle School Lacrosse League (GMS) will officially become a part of Metro Atlanta Youth Lacrosse Association (MAYLA).   MAYLA was developed by merging GMS and the “rec” league known as Georgia Youth Lacrosse Association (GYLA).  MAYLA will be made up of the high school feeder programs, the municipal programs such as Roswell/Decatur/Alpharetta, and some YMCA programs who were involved with GMS/GYLA.  What does this mean for our Jr. Greyhound middle school aged lacrosse players?

Senior Select Team
Comprised of 8th graders and possibly a few select 7th graders
Approximately 25 games during the season (January-May)
Games are played during the week and weekends
Majority of teams are in the metro area
Away tournaments requiring travel and additional expenses
Registration Fee:  $400.00.  All players will be required to purchase the Pope team helmet if they don’t already have one.
Tryouts:  January 9 and 10

Junior Select Team

U15 and U13 Rec Teams

Approximately 8 games during the season (February-May), and a season concluding Atlanta Area Youth Lacrosse Tournament.

Coordinators and coaches wish to express that being a part of the MAYLA Select teams is a very large commitment for both the player and family.   We wanted to detail the information for each of you so you can make your spring season plans.  We will continue to have rec ball teams for U15, U13, U11, and U9 and continue building all of the skills of our players.   If you have specific questions related to MAYLA, please email jrgreyhoundlax@yahoo.com.
