HIGHLIGHTS

Each position is coached by a member of the Stanford University Football Staff and assisted by several "guest" coaches. Campers may receive instruction in more than one position. Offensive positions include QB, WR, TE, RB and OL. Defensive Positions include DB, LB, DE, and DL. Each day of camp is treated as an individual session but we recommend campers attend multiple days to maximize the skills taught by the coaching staff.

High School Day Camp III on June 23rd will also feature a kicking, punting and snapping clinic. The clinic will be run by Stanford Football and guest coaches, specializing in the kicking game. If you are interested in taking part in the clinic only, please register for “HS Day Camp III AM Session” and indicate your position preference when you sign up. If you will participate in the clinic and the camp on June 23rd, simply check all positions that apply.
All campers are grouped according to age, position and ability to maximize the instructional and developmental opportunities. Skills and competition are based on each camper’s level of experience. The more experienced campers will be taught specific techniques to enhance their skill level. Inexperienced players will be taught basic fundamentals geared toward their skill level. Special sessions on weight training, speed development and nutrition will be conducted at each session of camp.

ELIGIBILITY

The Stanford Football Camp is open to young men entering the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade.

Due to NCAA rules, any person who has started his senior year of classes is ineligible for camp.

LOCATION

The Jim Harbaugh Football Camp will be held on campus at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. Stanford is located less than 30 minutes from both San Jose and San Francisco International Airports.

FACILITIES

Stanford University features some of the best facilities in college football. Camp will be conducted inside the sparkling new Stanford Stadium (completed September 2006), the Elliott Football Practice Fields and inside the 12,000 square foot Arrillaga Family Strength and Conditioning Center. Elliott Field, which contains 3 full grass football fields underwent a major renovation in 2005 and is one of the finest practice sites in the country. Campers will also have access to the Stanford Athletic Hall of Fame, the football locker room and other athletic, recreational and campus facilities.

MEALS

A catered lunch will be provided to campers during each day session. Pizza and soft drinks will also be available for purchase at the conclusion of each full day and evening camp session.

SAFETY AND SUPERVISION

Experienced trainers are available to campers at all times. In the event of an emergency, Stanford Hospital is located less than 5 minutes from the Athletic Department.

REFUND POLICY

The $25 deposit is non-refundable. If a camp application is withdrawn for any reason up until the time the camp session begins, tuition will be refunded, less the deposit.

CHECK-IN

Check-in will begin 30 minutes prior to the start of each camp session. Registration and check-in will be held at Arrillaga Plaza (near the NW entrance of Elliott Football Practice Fields) located between Maples Pavilion, Avery Aquatic Center and Arrillaga Sports Center. Driving Directions to campus are available at gostanford.com/travel.

HOTEL INFORMATION

The Jim Harbaugh Football camp consists of 3 individual all-day sessions and 1 afternoon session. For campers wishing to attend HS Day Camp I, II, III and HS Day Camp IV on July 27th, hotel accommodations must be made at one of the many local hotels near campus. Information on local hotels is available by visiting gostanford.com/travel.

FOOTBALL EQUIPMENT

Because there is a limited amount of contact at the Jim Harbaugh Football Camp, each camper will need to bring his own helmet, HS game or practice jersey, shoulder pads, mouthpiece, football cleats and sneakers. No slippers or flip flops please. Check with your local high school coach for football equipment. If your HS athletics association does not permit you to borrow football equipment, a limited amount of equipment is available to rent from Stanford Football (helmets and shoulder pads will be $25 each, based on availability). Please indicate on the camp registration form the need for rental equipment. Do not include the rental charge in the camp payment. The equipment rental fee must be paid at check-in. Since certain activities will take place on the astroturf field, please be sure to bring comfortable shoes.

SPENDING MONEY

We will have pizza, soft drinks and Gatorade available at the conclusion of each camp session. Additionally, the Sports Cafe (located in the Arrillaga Family Sports Center) will be open in the morning for campers looking for a snack before the day begins.
