Monday, July 9Very Important Lion Board
This week I am distributing copies of a fundraising letter to all summer basketball players. This introduces the "VERY IMPORTANT LION" Board, our primary fundraiser for the next two seasons. Players, parents, and I will sell spots on the board for $250 for a two year period. The board will hang in the gym at Jefferson High School through the year. We have 30 spots available on the board, which will raise money for all of our program activities and costs. We will supplement this program with some clinics, but I want this to be the only fundraiser the girls have to focus on.
The money from this program will go to the purchase equipment and practice gear for the team, summer camp costs, and our team building/training camp in November. This will also be the only fundraising effort, so the girls can focus on being basketball players, not salesgirls.
No player is expected to sell any number of sponsorships, and no reward is given to any player beyond the satisfaction that they have helped to provide for our team's activities. I would hope that everyone would get behind this activity to help make our program the pride of Jefferson High School and the PacWest Conference. Fundraising letters are available from me by e-mail or on the website under the "Handouts" button on the left hand menu. Thank you for your help toward our success.
