QUESTION: Do you offer T-Ball?
ANSWER: No. In the Pee-Wee boys division and Deb girls division, the coaches pitch to their own teams to help build the player's confidence. Each player is thrown five pitches or three swinging strikes. In the Valley boys division and the 8&Under girls divisions, coaches come in to pitch after the count is three balls on the youth pitcher; there are no walks to keep the games moving along. In all divisions, runs per inning are limited to five each team to control the length of the games.
QUESTION: Can my daughter play with the boys?
ANSWER: While we don't stop it, we discourage it because in every past occasion, after one season the girl moves over to the softball program. If a girl is serious about playing ball, she should start in softball as soon as possible as that is what she will be offered in high school and college. We have a complete softball program for girls, including each age bracket having its own field.
QUESTION: Where do I find a schedule of our team practices/games?
ANSWER: An official game schedule will be distributed to each team prior to the start of the season as well as being posted on the website. Each team is offered the chance of having their own web page on the JOBL website so it is possible that a manager may choose to post the practice schedule there.
