The 2009 J.A.Y.B.A.L. spring baseball instructional league will take to the fields from May 4th to June 27th.  The league is open to boys and girls that are in the 1st through 6th grades during the current school year. There will be three divisions of play:  Rookie League (1st/2nd grade), Minor League (3rd/4th grade), and Major League (5th/6th grade).  Each division will play 6 games including a season ending tournament.  All age divisions will use a pitching machine.  The intent of the J.A.Y.B.A.L. is to teach fundamentals, proper techniques and enjoyment, all for the development of future baseball and girls fast pitch players.

Practices will start May 4th at Boelke Complex and will be 75 minutes in length.  Games will start May 19th and be played each Tuesday thereafter at the Hillcrest Complex (Mens softball complex).  Teams will be coached by adult volunteers & parents.  The success of this league comes from the help of its volunteer parents and a set instruction plan.  Any parents interested in helping, please indicate so on the registration form below.  We will contact you if your help is needed, Thanks!

This league is in replacement of the youth baseball that has been playing in the mornings during the summer months the past several years. Moving practices and games to the evening will help provide a better practice and game format, and will help families be able to attend these events.

Some of the 6th grade players will be starting the Cal Ripken League in early June, which J.A.Y.B.A.L. has no intention to interfere with. Therefore, those players will be charged half the normal fee that other players will pay if their schedule only allows them to play for that shortened period. Also, there will be a T-BALL league that will start once school is out. This will be scheduled as it has been in the past - please check back to this this site for updates on the t-ball league.

The J.A.Y.B.A.L. registration fee is $50.00 for one player, $75.00 for two players, and $100.00 for three players in a household.  Please mail this registration form along with fee payment by May 9th.  This registration fee will cover costs of team shirts, caps, and equipment. Please note – any players registering late will be assessed a $20 late fee.

All teams will practices on the indicated dates. Rookie League will practice from 5:30-6:45, Minor League from 6:30-7:45, and Major League from 7:30-8:45. The 15 minute over-lap will be used for warm-ups/stretching and playing catch. All practices will be set up in a staton format, with players receiving instruction in multiple stations at each practice. Our goal for this format is to have players constantly focused on the skills they need to succeed, with very little "stand around" time!

Players will need to wear soft spike cleats or tennis shoes, baseball pants or sweats (no shorts please), and must bring their own glove.

Please see the "Handouts" section for league rules.
