Grade Check
All Althletes have been contacted by their Teachers and/or Michael Bailey if they are on Academic Probation.  What this means is that your son is eligible to continue practicing but cannot participate in any matches.  This period of probation usually last two weeks.  Unfortunatley for tennis players, this means they are done playing matches for the season as our last matches are next week.

Important Reminder: Written Request REQUIRED to take Players home from Away Matches

If parents wish to take your son home directly from an Away Match and/or have their son carpool with another family home from an Away Match, they must provide a written notification to their coach prior to departure from IHS.  The notification must include the following:

  • Who will be taking your son home.  If not, you, you must provide specific consent for your son to leave with a specified adult.
  • Your acknowledgement that the school district's liability insurance will not be in effect and that the school will not be held liable for any injury or special dangers that may occur.

Coaches really need all parents' cooperation on this as they are responsible for the safety and welfare of all of our boys.  The Issaquah School District is responsible for the transportation of students to and from Issaquah High School in an authorized vehicle.  Additionally, it will speed the return to IHS if all boys are accounted for in writing or on the bus.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

What Happens When it Rains?

Coaches are working on indoor facilities for a rain-out practice. Currently, the volleyball team and
cheerleaders have the gym and the football players have the weight room. For right now, the tennis team is strictly outdoors.  To avoid bringing all the freshmen over to the highschool campus to run in the rain for an hour, practice was cancelled for today.
The goal on a rainy day is to have a workout specific to their sport, which
would include weight training, quick response running drills, stretching,
circuit training, etc. We just need the facility to do this.

We are scheduled to play Sammamish tomorrow and the weather forecast does
not look good. Typically the school makes an announcement whether or not
a match is cancelled by 1pm, (otherwise they have to pay for the buses).
If a match is cancelled it will be played the following non-match day. If
Thursday's match is rained out, it will be rescheduled for Friday. We will
try to get some kind of schedule worked out so if it rains tomorrow as
well, we will still meet and do some indoor conditioning. Stay Tuned!

Rules of the Court!

1.  At all times IHS Athletes and Parents will show good sportsmanship!

2.  The following will result in a point penalty from any coach and result in a very unhappy IHS Coach!

- Throwing of the racket, use of words you would not say in front of your Mother or Grandmother, Slamming the ball at your opponent in anger, Parent coaching on side lines,  taunting of opponent while watching a match and any blatent disrespect toward another athlete or coach.

3.  When in doubt call lines in favor of opponent.  Karma does come around....If you have trouble with an opponents line call's dont hesitate to get a line judge.

4.  I can coach only when you are changing sides...and between sets.  If you would like coaching and dont see me ask a team mate to find me.

5.  All non playing athletes will be visibley supporting their teammates.

6.  IHS is responsible for clean up of courts before we leave the area.  No one goes until the whole area is clean.

JV Wins 7-2!!
Luckily out of the 30 players on Liberty's team, they had only 6 that were eligible to play as well so it worked out perfectly.  They still had their whole team there to cheer on their players.  We had one of our own who came along to cheer our guys, Max Ramos.  Thanks Max!  For further details on individual play click on the notepad icon next to the Game Name under the Schedules Tab.
