REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED FOR IN HOUSE PROGRAMS, and team formation is currently underway. Expect to hear from your coach by the second week in October, with practices starting the last week in October and GAMES BEGINNING OCTOBER 31!

General Information:

The IBA In-House program is an instructional program designed to teach basketball skills and sportsmanship. The In-House program is less intense, less time consuming and less competitive than the Traveling Program. In-House teams are primarily comprised of students from one school’s attendance area.

Eligibility:  All students who attend schools in the Irondale High School attendance area are welcome to play in IBA In-House sponsored programs. Students who are open-enrolled in our school district are also invited to play In-House basketball. Enrollment is limited to boys and girls in grades 3 - 8. Players must agree to abide by the Minnesota State High School League’s rules regarding: Mood-Altering Chemicals.

Registration and Fees: Players must either pre-register by mail, online, or in-person on or before September 26, 2009. Players must provide a completed registration form, including all signatures, the Medical Information Form, the signed Code of Conduct form, AND the appropriate fee at the time of registration.

Online registration: go to www.irondalebasketball.org, August 17, 2008 thru September 26, 2009.

In-person registration: Pike Lake Education Ctr, 2101 NW 14th St in New Brighton, during office hours: Monday-Friday 9:00am-3:30pm, August 17-September 26, and Monday-Thursday 4:30-8:30pm, September 8-September 26

OR

Highview Middle School during Registration Nights/Warm-ups, September 10 and 15 from 6:00-9:00pm

forms MUST be postmarked BY September 26, 2009. Registrations postmarked after September 15 must include an additional $10.00 late fee and will be placed on a waiting list for future consideration as team space permits. Confidential financial assistance is available for those players who demonstrate financial need.

Team Formation/Notification: Players will be notified by their coach by mid-October. In the interest of offering a fair program for all players, the IBA appreciates you NOT requesting special consideration with regard to teams, coaches and teammates. Your understanding in this regard is appreciated. Teams are formed by school attendance areas to facilitate carpooling whenever possible.

Coaches:  The IBA is dependent on volunteer coaches. In addition, a Coaching Clinic is offered by the IBA. Coaching staff will learn drills and skills at this clinic. The Coaching Clinic date will be in October.

Practice/Game Schedule: Teams can expect to practice one time per week for one and one-half hours per session. Practice days are usually Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays. Teams will usually play one game per week. Games are usually Saturdays with an occasional Thursday evening game. Practices begin in November with the game schedule beginning in mid November and continuing through late February.

Year-end Tournament: Boys and Girls teams at the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade levels may be involved in a year-end tournament mid to late February. Parents will be expected to assist at the tournament as tournament directors, timers, scorers, and admission and concessions workers. Proceeds from the tournament help offset some of our tournament expenses. Your support is appreciated.
