THE IRONDALE BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION (IBA)

We hope this site provides you with everything you need to know about all the IBA's programs and activities. IBA's mission is to provide the Irondale community with the opportunity for boys and girls to learn the game of basketball, develop fundamental basketball skills, teamwork, good sportsmanship and most importantly to have some FUN! Look for complete information on all our 2009-2010 programs in your mailbox and on this website in August 2009. Meanwhile, here are some IMPORTANT DATES to note on your calendar! 
 
REGISTRATION
TRAVELING: August 17 - September 18, 2009 (Boys) or September 19, 2009 (Girls)
IN HOUSE: August 17 - September 26, 2009

TRYOUTS
OPEN GYM, BOYS AND GIRLS: September 15, 2009
BOYS: September 18 and 19, 2009 (both dates mandatory)
GIRLS: September 19 and 26, 2009 (both dates mandatory)

IBA TOURNAMENTS
GIRLS: November 7-8, 2009
BOYS: January 30-31, 2010
 
Summer Basketball Opportunities through Irondale High School!

Girls Basketball Camps and Open Gyms
IBA extends a warm welcome to Irondale's new Girls Varsity Coach Troy Russell! For more information on Girls Basketball Camps, Open Gyms, and other opportunities, visit the Irondale High School Girls Basketball site.

Boys Basketball Camps
All camps are one week and will be directed by Irondale Varsity Basketball coach Jon DeMars, and his Knights coaching staff.  Here's an opportunity to enhance your fundamental skills and work to improve through instruction from the high school coaching staff.  Campers will receive instruction in shooting, ball handling, passing, man-to-man defense and team play.  All participants will receive a special camp t-shirt.  Having fun and self improvement will be stressed.
Sign up for the grade you will be entering in Fall 2009. When registering indicate your t-shirt size.

Thanks for your support in 2008-2009!

Players, coaches, parents, families, and community members: As we wrap up another season, we want to thank you all for your support of basketball in our community. Over 400 kids participated in IBA programs this winter, from Little Dribblers to the highest competitive level.

Thanks to all of you, every player was cheered on as they worked hard and experienced fun, growth, and feeling of accomplishment.

We'll see you next season!
