IRMO, SC (WIS) - While waiting for his second TV interview, Sam Bryant takes a run around the tee ball field at Irmo's Friarsgate Park, but just about a week ago Sam was lapping the bases in the nation's capital, right in front of the president of the United States.
Sam had but one word to describe his meeting with President Bush.
"Awesome," Sam said.
Sam was one of 51 tee ball players from around the US to play at the White House last Wednesday. On hand were lots of baseball celebs, like hall of famer Frank Robinson.

Have you ever considered umpiring?
Umpiring Little League baseball can be very rewarding. It offers the volunteer a chance to give back to his or her community while doing something they love.
Umpiring offers more flexibility in scheduling than coaching, yet allows the volunteer to be part of the game. You can even umpire you own child's games! Plus we will provide the equipment and training for FREE!
Everything begins with training. Each year training is offered at a district, state and regional level.
For more information on how you can get involved, training in your area or anything umpire related send a note to our Head Umpire Mark Sitterly ssitterly@sc.rr.com. We need volunteers!!
