  Welcome

Welcome to the Web Site of the Winningest Team in RMFL History!!

Five Mustangs Named to 2009 All-Star Team!!

Congratulations to the following players on a great season:

Brandon Peebler (#23) - Wide Receiver

Nate Fielding (#7) - Quarterback

Brandon Reed (#18) - Defensive Back

Rye McAffee (#60) - Offensive Tackle

Dennis Rinehart (#74) - Defensive End

The Idaho Falls Mustangs 2009 season has ended.

The Mustangs recovered from a 1-4 start to win their final 3 games and qualify for the RMFL playoffs for the 13th consecutive season. Unfortunately, they were not able to continue their resurgence, falling to the Utah Shock in the first round of the playoffs.

The season was marked with change.  The team changed management for the first time in 4 years, changed, coaches, quarterbacks and a great many players.  Players that were role players in 2008 like Will Toone, Cody Stegelmeier and Chris Brown became key starters on the team in 2009. Long time Mustangs, Scott Worthington, Justin Weaver, Todd Johnson, Dennis Rinehart, Irven Hill and Josh Swatsenbarg all proved they still have some 'tread left on the tires'. All-time rushing leader, Travis Boden, proved he can still run and get the difficult yards and Imari Molifua proved he can be a #1 back if he can avoid injuries. Former IF High star, quarterback Nate Fielding, displayed top level quarterback status in only his first season.  Brandon Reed proved he's still one of the best defensive backs in the RMFL AND be a big play wide receiver . Brad Darrington and Rye McAffee continued to be solid on the left side of the o-line opposite welcome newcomers, Mike Legrand and Chad Stegelmeier.  A young new core of potential future stars also emerged, including defensive back, Roman Gonzales, defensive end, Kenny Surber, linebacker, Stephen Stewart, tight end, Matt Hill, wide receiver, Rich Harris and running back, Matt Tolletson.

A well-traveled star level player, Brandon Peebler, emerged as one of the RMFL's top stars and will gain strong consideration for the League MVP award. Moreover, finding a permanent home with the Idaho Falls Mustangs .

In all, it was a season of transition, setting up for what is hoped to be not only more on field success in 2010 and beyond, but also an atmosphere of "playing the game for the pure fun of it" that wasn't as much of a focus before.

The Management and Coaching staff would like to thank the players and fans... but mostly the wives and families of the players for indulging their passion for the game for a few months. We hope to see everyone... and some new faces in 2010!

Being a Mustang

2003 Champions

Becoming a Mustang requires commitment.

Commitment to the TEAM, the game of football, the principles of sportsmanship and the desire to have fun while practicing and playing hard.

Players need to obtain their own equipment (with assistance from the team, if needed), game uniforms, attend once a week practices and have Saturdays open (between the end of March and the end of June) for practices and games.

Player fees will be only $50 for the season; the lowest in the RMFL. Player fees will be required to be paid before participating in any Mustang regular season games.
