Ice Jets Girls 2005 Spring Program
Ask any parent of a player for the 2004-05 Ice Jets 12U team about the keys of their success and they will tell you that the 2004 Spring Training Camp was a major factor.   YOU CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THE FALL TO GET BETTER OR TO START TRAINING!   So no matter what program you play for next season, we will make you better for it!  22 girls have enrolled thus far.  Only a few slots remain!

Comments from last year:

"My daughter has made more progress in 3 weeks of this camp than she did all of last year!"

"The confidence my daughter has shown has astonished me. She is also developing muscles!"

"If I am seeing this progress after just three weeks I can't wait to see what type of hockey player she will be after 9 months of this type of coaching!"

"I have never seen my daughter so excited about anything as much as this camp."

"I am amazed how Coach Oleg remembers the names of every player in the camp.  It shows he takes a personal interest in all participants.  I am also impressed how he mixes in talks on dedication, team play, personal responsibility, and leadership during both the on and off ice drills."

... and finally,
"I'm glad you talked me into this!"

Ice Jets Season Ends... but an era begins!
The Ice Jets were eliminated by Assabet Valley by a score of 4-1 in the National Championship Quarter-Finals. In our post-game meeting the coaches congratulated the girls for an incredible season, one in which saw improvement in every player, in every tournament.
Coach Rob summed it up perfectly:

"Realistically girls, we came from being a somewhat mediocre house team to an Elite 8 team in one year"
.   He went on to point out:
- No Pee Wee team (boys are girls) in the state of Texas made it this far this year.
- We are the only girls team in state history to win a game at Nationals.
- Some girls on the team weren't even playing hockey until this year and are now playing at a
   level they never expected.

Goalie, Katie Davis asked to speak and made a very emotional statement, "... through the year we sometimes disagreed and fought among ourselves but we stuck together and grew closer as a family.  I feel like I have 16 sisters in this locker room and I want this feeling to continue."

Each girl said they wanted to continue to play hockey, get better, set goals, and most importantly, stick together.

It's not a secret, the Ice Jets want to expand their girls program. We would love to have a 12U and a 14U team next year and if older girls want to play and if enough come out and are dedicated to work hard there will be a place for them as well. If you are not familiar with the program and are interested I strongly suggest you speak to those that are involved. Our coaches, parents, and players will be happy to talk to you and address any questions. With any hockey program (or any sports program for that matter) you will hear positives and negatives. We are not for everybody, but if you are interested: check it out for yourself.   Ask questions.

Thank you for your continued support.

12U Wins Fall Round-Up Tournament
8 games in 8 days with two practices sandwiched between tournaments... No problem!
The Ice Jets 12U's followed up their second place finish in the All American Girls tournament in Minneapolis with a Tournament Championship the following weekend in the Dallas Stars Select Fall Round-Up Tournament.   How far have we come?  In winning the championship the girls avenged two losses against teams they faced in September.  Last year, this team had difficulty competing against Squirt B opponents.  In this tournament they defeated a AAA and three AA teams (one of them twice) on route to the title.  "The Ice Jet program works" commented many of the parents - both of the boys and girls team.

Sperrys take part in Dryland
Cassie and Stephen Sperry worked out with the campers today and parents and students can expect to see more of these hockey siblings the rest of the way. The duo took the time to address the campers after practice relaying their hockey background and dedication and commitment it takes to be an elite player. Cassie also asked Coach Oleg if she could return so she could work on her stickhandling with the rest of the campers. Cassie plays for the USA Hockey Rocky Mountain District Chicago Showcase Team. Her brother, Stephen, plays on the USA Hockey U17 Team.
