WELCOME TO THE HOME OF THE ICE JETS GIRLS HOCKEY ASSOCIATION
We are a member of the Ice Jets Association as well as USA Hockey. In 2004-05 our girls program was formed. 17 girls signed up and through hard work, great coaching, and supportive parents the team was able to win the Rocky Mountain District Championship and later advanced to the Elite 8 in the USA Hockey National Tournament. We want to continue the journey in 2005-06 by offering any girl with the heart and desire the opportunity to come join us.

12U Team to play in Addison 3 on 3 League This Summer
Addison Square Garden (Corner of Midway and Beltline) has a rink called "The Deuce" that is about one third the size of a regulation rink. Our 12U team (The Panthers) will be playing in a 15 game 3 on 3 league this summer.
3 on 3 Hockey - Each team puts three skaters on the ice plus a goalie. - Games are played in two halves - 22 minute running clocks. - Penalty shots are awarded to a skater who is fouled. - The offender goes to the box for two minutes but the team still skates 3 on 3 for the two minutes.
This is a great format for developing forwards and goalies. Forwards constantly have to be moving because they will be either fore-checking, back-checking, or cycling in the offensive zone. Goalies will see a lot of shots because there are no defenseman. Check out the Panthers website for more information: http://eteamz.active.com/PanthersGirlsHockey/

31 Bush 26 Chanthanivong 30 Federspiel 12 Kazyaka 25 Rohe 18 Steen 29 Taylor 23 Wilcoxon 19 Williams 27 Biard 14 de la Guardia 35 Davis 33 Lunsford 21 Sullivan 28 Walker
The schedule is posted on this website. Come see the team and their hot summer jerseys!
If You Build It, They will Come!
Last year a group of concerned parents met at BlueLine Ice Complex to discuss the future of girls hockey in the Dallas-Ft Worth Metroplex. From that meetings, these parents saw that a program that emphasized skill development over everything else was the best way to meet everyone's needs and goals. The Ice Jets stepped up and offered such a program. No promises of # of wins or Championships were made. Success would be measured by player improvement. The guarantee from the Ice Jets was, "Give us ONE year. If your daughter sticks with the program and works hard you will see DRASTIC improvement in your daughter's hockey skills. You will have talented and confident girls." 17 girls formed the inaugural team. All improved. All gained confidence. We even made a little history along the way! Here's the exciting news: We have 39 signed contracts for Year 2!!! (229% increase!) We also will field three teams: 12U, 14U, and a High School team. Thanks to our buckle practice system, each girl - no matter their age or skill level- will benefit by being coached by all three of our very talented professional coaches. There is still room for more girls in our program. Contact Rob Wilcoxon (rob@thewilcoxongroup.com) for any information.
