We hope the players have fun, learn, develop and have some success along the way."PLAY BALL" Coaches:Andrew Corcoran & Bill Amirault * CHAMPIONSHIP HAVERHILL VS TOPSFIELD GAME 3 AUGUST 9, 2002 FINAL GAME REPORT The Haverhill 1 team's season came to a close, dropping a 6 - 1 decision to Topsfield in game 3 of the best of three Championship series @ Riverside Park. It was truly a remarkable summer with many great moments. THE TEAM consisted of fifteen players who all contributed to the team's on & off the field success. David Smith, Greg Cavanaugh, Conor Amirault, Andrew Susen, Robert Corcoran, Peter DeRoche, Mike Brulport, Stefan Schulz, Connor Hayden, Warren Egersheim, Matt Gerbutavich, David Fairburn, Dan McLaughlin, Mike Archambault & Chris Corr were the players that made up this special team that kept things interesting throughout the summer. Haverhill had it's share of success on the playing field. The team finished 1 point out of first place in the 9 team B North Division and boasted a 13 - 2 - 1 record in regular summer action. In the first round of the playoffs vs Triton 2, Haverhill came from behind in games 1 & 3 to win the series. In round 2 vs Amesbury 2 ( #1 seed from South Division ) the underdog Haverhill team shocked Amesbury, knocking them out in two games to advance to the Championship series against Topsfield. In game one of the finals vs Topsfield, Haverhill came back from a 6 - 2 deficit and won the game 17 - 8 @ Riverside Park. With no more rabbits to pull out of the hat, Haverhill lost games 2 & 3 of the finals. Haverhill finished with a highly, respectable overall record of 18 - 5 - 1 on the summer. As much success as the team had on the field, the players always showed tremendous sportsmanship throughout the season. The Haverhill 1 team represented the Haverhill Senior Baseball League & the city of Haverhill in a way we should all be very proud of. I wish all players continued success in whatever you decide to do in the future. Coach Bill Amirault *For Previous Game Reports Click Onto News |
