IRONMEN WRESTLING CLUB: Practice Information

High School Practices

Our high school sessions currently run MWF 6-8pm September 7 to November 6.

Our sessions are a blend of techique instruction, drilling, situational wrestling, live wrestling and physical training.

Our instructional staff uses a variety of differentiated instructional techniques in order to ensure that all wrestlers are provided with equal opportunity to learn.

The higher level of staff allows us to provide more 1:1 instruction then many clubs.

The high school program is geared twoard the needs and requests of the athletes.  We expect that the fine young men who join us to train will communicate needs to us so we can help.  We are here for you, this is your club.

WE DO EXPECT ALL ATHLETES TO BE TRAINING HARD AT ALL TIMES. IF YOU WANT MORE "FREE DRILLING TIME" THEN USE THE TIME TO DRILL NOT SOCIALIZE.

Youth Practices

Our youth program is currently focused on grades 4-8, but we do accept younger athletes on a case by case basis.

Youth times are T/Th from 6-8pm.  September 8 to November 12.

Our youth program focuses on solid basics. We operate on the idea that less is more...if you understand it.

We keep a very structured  program in which all athletes are working on the basics taught. We also include situational and live wrestling as well as physical training and conditioning.

We will provide 1:1 pull-out tutoring when needed.

We provide more advanced technique for more experinced wrestlers.

Our instructional staff includes local upper class varsiy wrestlers under the strict guidence of our adult coaching staff.

We train athletes to be fair, but aggressive.  We want our athletes prepared to enter a "combat" sport. Our training is designed with the idea that in a combat situation, the more aggressive, better trained athlete is safer. Winning is just the result of good training. We are focused on good training and the growth of the athlete..not winning as such.

We work hard and expect a good work ethic from our members.

This is not a loose "romper-room" atmosphere.   This is not a baby-sitting club.  A degree of commitment is expected.
