Casey Clutch - Co Head Coach Indiana Slammers - Evansville Univ 05'

Casey is what the Slammers program is all about. She was a star player in high school, completed a very successful four year softball career at University of Evansville and now owns and operates her own softball instructional company called "Clutch Athletic Performance" in Anderson, Indiana. Casey is the Co-Head Coach of the Slammers program and in the very near future, she will take complete control as the Head Coach of the organization.

Sadie is a very aggressive ballplayer who will add depth to the Slammers lineup. Sadie will be expected to be a integral part of the Valparaiso University program next season and we are expecting many good things from her this summer.

Abby Gross, Ball State University

Abby returns for her 3rd year with the Slammers. With her senior year nearing it's close, catcher Abby Gross set the Ball State single-season RBI record with a double to centerfield against Eastern Illinois.  Gross leads the Cardinals with 42 RBIs. Abby also holds the Ball State career and single season Home Run marks. Going Out In Style: Abby Ends her career by  earning first team honors at MAC year end tournament. Abby Gross went 3-for-3 at the plate with five RBIs to lead the Cardinals to a 5-4 victory over the Akron Zips on day three of the tournament.
Veteran Slammer outfielder Jenny Jacobs, despite missing 18 games this season because of injury, finished her career as Butler's all-time leader in home runs (25), runs batted in (106) and slugging percentage (.489). She set a Butler record for runs batted in (38) last season and the season record for home runs (9) in 2005. Jenny is also an exceptional outfielder with a cannon arm who has made some highlight reel catches for the Slammers.
In the words of Bob Zivic, "This will be Jenny's third year with the Slammers. Jenny received All-American honors last year at the ASA Major Tournament. She will long be remembered for her blast over the center field fence last year against the New York Pride. Jenny has a huge bat and a very good glove in the outfield. She is a joy to have in this program and we hope she stays for years to come."

Abby Liden, IPFW 08'
This will be Abby's third year with the Slammers. She is a fantastic middle infielder and we found out last summer that she is also a very accomplished outfielder. Abby has a keen eye at the plate and through the years has probably been the most patient offensive player at the plate. Abby has completed her college softball career this year and was going to retire from fastpitch. That didn't last long. We welcome her back.

Dani had a very successful summer last year on the mound with the Slammers and we are thrilled to have her back. Dani is a very confident ballplayer and besides her duties on the mound, she has a very good bat and can also play a very good outfield. Dani's love of the game is without question. She will reside in Louisville, Kentucky this summer and make the commute to all of the tournaments.
Dani also had a very sucessful 2007 season for Evansville with 10 wins and only 4 losses with an ERA of 3.00. She was solid as a rock for the Slammers last summer and came up huge in important games.

At UE 2006: Went 4-4 on the mound in 19 appearances...recorded 41 strikeouts in 59.1 innings pitched...tied single-game team-high nine strikeouts against St. Joe's...went all seven innings against Indiana State allowing no earned runs...had four RBI in a 10-3 win over UNI...had two stolen bases against Ole Miss...NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete selection.

Sarah is the ultimate baserunner that has ever put on a Slammers uniform. Sarah set the career base stealing record at IUPUI were she graduated from last year. Sarah has a huge bat and her OBA is consistenly high. As a center fielder, there is no equal. She is a fun person to watch play the game and as you will see this summer she is a opposing catchers worst nightmare.

The Slammers have always been blessed with fantastic middle infielders and Bridget will also be one of the great ones. She is a fun player to watch play the game.

Mallory is a 2008 graduate of Lewis University who has had a stellar college career. In her senior campaign Mallory carried a .331 batting average with 10 HR's and 36 rbi's. Mallory can play anywhere on the field and we will rely on her big bat and defensive skills to contribute to a succesful summer.

We have not had a D3 player on this team for some time, but Ashley's eye-popping stats could not be passed up. From what we are told, Ashley could compete at any D1 college but chose St Mary's primarily for academics. Welcome Ashley!

Liz Smith, Grand Valley State 08'
Liz has played a major part of the Slammers program for the last 3 season. Without a doubt the most powerful bat on the team. Liz completed her senior year at Grand Valley State University with a huge .411 batting average. As we do every year, we will look for key at bats from Liz.

Hitting .411 and driving in 38 runs for the Grand Valley State Lakers earns senior ElizabethSmith a spot on the 2008 Daktronics, Inc. All Great Lakes Region Second Team.

Abby comes to the Slammers from a very good program at the University of Missouri where she just completed her freshman season. We look for good things from Abby and hope to have her around for a few more years.

Michaele joins the Slammers after completing her sophomore season at the University of Missouri. Michaele will split time between the infield and outfield. Michaele's dedication to the game is a perfect fit for her to be wearing a Slammers uniform.

Monica has been the work horse of the IU pitching staff for the last two season. She was going to join the Slammers last summer but could not because of injury. We welcome Monica and this summer with a promise that her job will be much easier as she joins the Slammers pitching staff of Casey Clutch, and Dani Murphy. As seen in these 2008 stats, Monica was very impressive in her role as the number one pitcher on the Indiana staff.

God Bless The USA by Lee Greenwood

Biggest difference makers in stats versus last year are the categories of RBI's, slugging, and team ERA.  A great year for the team!
