We are very excited to have Torie on the mound this year and expect bigs things from her. Torie is a phenominal pitcher. A sophomore pitcher from Utica, Ill., she finished the year with a 23-13 record and a 1.18 earned-run average with 380 strikeouts. Bunzell's 380 strikeouts set a new Great Lakes Valley Conference single season mark and also broke her own school record for strikeouts. Bunzell ranked 1st in the GLVC in wins and strikeouts and was 2nd in E.R.A. She also ranked 3rd nationally in strikeouts, 18th in E.R.A. and 19th in wins...

We welcome Ashley as a full time Slammer this year. Ashley joined us for the NSA World Series in 2006 and left a lasting impression. A very "smart" ballplayer who can play multiple postions. She is solid in all aspects of the game.

Casey Clutch Creakbaum - Casey is starting her 8th year with the Slammers. Casey has not lost a game on the mound for the last two seasons. Her record last year was 11-0 with a 1.53 era. Besides her pitching duties, Casey is the co-head coach of the Slammers organization and will take over all head coaching duties when I decide to retire. Casey has a very successful business with Clutch Athletic Performance, teaching all aspects of the game of softball. It is nice to know that this program will be in good hands for years to come.

This is Sadie's 2nd year with the slammers. Sadie is a brick wall at the hot corner with a rocket arm. Sadie is credited with driving in the winning run of a 1-0 extra inning game against the KAM Hooters and Nikki Nemitz at the USSSA World series last year. That was by far the most exciting game that I have been part of in my 23 years of coaching. Sadie had a nice Soph season at Valpo finishing with a .297 BA.
.
This will be Whitney's first year with the Slammers. Whitney had a lights out freshman campaign at SIUE finishing with a .371 batting average, .470 slg%, and .487 OB%. Whitney can play multiple positions and will be counted on to play a very valuable role in our success.

Brittney Fisher - This is Brittney's 2nd year with us. Brittney is one of the most dynamic power hitters that I have had the pleasure to coach. Britt batted .466 for us last year and carried a .412 career BA into Bethel's 2009 season. One of her more memorable Slammer home runs came at the championship game against the Hooters at the USSSA World Series. Britt was nagged with lower back problems during that game but still managed to hit the ball a country mile.
.
. Lindsay Fromi---Heartland College---Moline, IL
Lindsay Fromi - This will be Lindsay's first year with us. Lindsay is a left handed slapper with phenomenal speed. Her time from home to first is 2.5 seconds. We have no doubt that Lindsay will be crossing the plate many times with the big guns following her in the order.
. Abby Gross---Ball State Univ 08'---Lafayette, IN
.
This will be Abby's 4th year with us. Abby is one of the Slammers big guns. Abby batted .611 at the World Series. A very solid defensive player with a huge bat. Abby is credited with hitting the go ahead home run in the 9-7 win against the Hooters at the USSSA World Series. In her outstanding 4 yrs at Ball State she now holds several hitting records including the all time Ball State HR record.

This is Jenny's 4th year with the Slammers. Another huge bat hitting .441 for the season last year. Jenny is a very dominating player who when will put fear into any pitcher that she faces. Jacobs, who missed 18 games in 2008 because of injury, still finished as Butler's all-time leader in home runs (25), runs batted in (106) and slugging percentage (.489) With Jenny it is all about power. Jenny's Slammer claim to fame was after arriving late to the ASA Women's Major Championship in 07' she proceeded to blast a home run to beat the New York Fredom. A Natural!!!

This is Jill's first year with the Slammers. The first time I saw Jill play this spring at Valparaiso University, I knew I had to have her on the team. Jill has all the characteristics of that perfect outfielder. Jill finished the Valpo season batting .315 and slugging.423 %. She is a very smart lefty at the plate and a tough out for any pitcher. We are thrilled to have Jill with us this year.

This is Molly's first season with the Slammers. Molly played softball at the University of Illinois where she graduated in 2007. Molly was one of the team captains her senior year and is very solid on both offense and defense. Molly ended her 2007 season with a .299 season batting average. One of the highlights of her college carreer occurred in 2007 when she was 7-7 through the first three games at the Diamond Devil Invitational and finished the tournament 8-15 with a homerun and 3 RBI's. Only six players in NCAA history have more consecutive hits than that. We are very excited to have Molly with us.
.
This will be Sydney's first year with the Slammers. Sydney graduated from the University of Illinois in 2007 playing in one of the best college softball programs in the country. Sydney now attends law school at Valparaiso University were she is a student assistant coach with the Valpo softball program. Sydney will bring plenty of experience and power to the Slammers. Lisy's first IL home run.

Bridget Paine - This is Bridgets 2nd year with us. Bridget is a phenominal shortstop who won the Defensive MVP tournament award at the USSSA World Series last year from a field of 27 teams. Bridget covers a lot of ground at her position and not many balls get past her. Bridget completed the 2009 season at Butler batting .331 with 5 home runs, .514 slg% and a .416 ob%.
.
Mallory Paine - This will be Mallory's 2nd season with the Slammers. Mallory had a huge year for us last year. She batted primarily in the 3rd spot ending the season with a .355 average. Very smart catcher who can call one heck of a game. Mallory is a true leader who has a natural way of keeping the team loose. She finished her senior season in 08' at Lewis batting .331, 10 HRs, and .581 OB%.We are glad to have her back again this year.

Elizabeth Smith---Grand Valley U 08'---Chgo, IL
.
This is Smitty's 3rd year with the Slammers. Smitty is another big gun batting .438 for the 2008 season. She has been consistent on offense ever since she has joined us. Smitty has also been our rock at first base. At 6' 3" not many balls get by her. Smitty is a pure joy to coach and have on the team. She has come up huge in our most important games.

This will be Abby's second season with the Slammers. She is a very gifted ball player. Abby proved to be a vacuum cleaner on the field as a middle infielder last season committing only one error. Abby along with her sister Michaele play softball at the University of Missouri where Abby is the starting shortstop. The Missouri Tiger softball team defeated #4 UCLA to gain entry to the NCAA 2009 College World Series but were finally eliminated by #5 Georgia Bulldogs. First time in 14 years MIzzou had appeared in the WCWS.
# 15
This will be Michaele's 2nd year with the Slammers. Michaele played a very valuable role in the Slammers sucess. She is a very talented ball player who can (and did) play multiple positions for us last season. Michaele is a total team player whos dedication and love for the game is unmatched. We are thrilled to have her back for another season. Michaele plays softball at the University of Missouri where the Tigers competed in the 2009 NCAA Women's College World Series. She was on base and scored in a last inning comeback attempt against #5 Georgia, but Mizzou fell short and was finally eliminated 5-2 by the Bulldogs in a game televised by ESPN.
