New Team Sign Ups for IYAA Basketball Beta Program
IMSA, in association with the Independence Youth Athletic Association (IYAA), will field four co-ed first grade basketball teams for the 2016-2017 basketball season. There will be two 1-hr practices each week, and a total of 6 games.
We will have a representative at the IYAA table at the Three Trails Open House Night. Feel free to come by and ask questions or fill out a registration form. Teams don't form for another two months, and practices don't start til November. For this Beta Group there will be a reduced fee of $50 per player. Only 28 spots are available so please don't wait to claim one for your son or daughter.
Interested players from those IMSA basketball teams will then transition into Queen City Athletic Association t-ball teams in the spring of 2017. Those same players will form teams to participate in volleyball, soccer or football in the fall of 2017. The emphasis will be on trying to keep kids that attend the same elementary school on teams together. When elementary school students-athletes play on combined teams, they will be organized by future middle school or high school affiliation. For example, Van Horn kids will play together, Truman kids will play together, etc. This is meant to foster not only a comraderie amongst the young student-athletes, but also help them develop a playing chemistry in multiple sports that should carry through to their high school years.
If you can't wait until the Open House Night, feel free to contact us anytime at firstname.lastname@example.org.
