Eagles @ Fayetteville
Thursday night, the AAAA West conference Huntsville Eagles kicked off their season by traveling to play the AAAAA West conference Fayetteville Bulldogs. The underdog Eagles controlled the tempo for much of the first half and had several opportunities to score, but were never able to punch the ball into the net. At the 23 minute mark, Fayetteville was able to take advantage of the Eagles in front of their own net and went up 1 to 0 and then around the 7 minute mark added another score sending both teams into the half with the score 2-0 in favor of the hometown Bulldogs. The second half began with the Eagles going against the wind but continuing to play hard. The Eagle defense played aggressive and hustled all over the field. Seniors Conrad Angon, Owen Davis, Jason Hollett, and Clay Ledbetter had an outstanding night on the defensive end of the field and helped establish the pace of the game for the Eagles. On the offensive end of the field, Senior Micah Jones stood out with his hustle and physical play.

The Eagle varsity will be in action again next Thursday night at home as they host the Morrilton Devil Dogs.

Francisco Gonzalez Receives New Kidney
The event Eagles fans have prayed for over the last two years finally happened this week as Senior Francisco Gonzalez received a kidney transplant at the Arkansas Childrens Hospital in Little Rock. He still has a long road to recovery but will no longer have to endure the ardous nine hours of dialysis a night that he has suffered through over the last two seasons. Our prayers continue with you Francisco.
