TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
Hudson Demolition Tournament Teams
For you die hard softball fans, we want to let you know that Hudson Youth Softball continues play into the summer and competes at the tournament level. Our tournament teams compete under the name Hudson Demolition and Hudson Youth Softball sponsors teams at the 10U, 12U and 14U levels. All three teams compete as a B level team. This means that all players are recruited from our recreational league (versus "A" teams which recruit from anywhere). Players are nominated by Hudson Youth Softball coaches and all Demolition players MUST participate in our recreational league program during the spring.
Tournament play is definitely for those who truly love softball. A typical tournament involves the entire weekend. The "round robin" section of the tournament typically begins on Friday night and ends on Saturday afternoon after the team has played 4 games. All teams are then placed into a seeding and, on Sunday morning, the elimination round begins. The goal is to win the tournament - we have seen this done in as few as 5 games or as many as 10 games. Remember, all games are played between Friday and Sunday! During this time, many friendships blossom between our players as well as with palyers on other teams. Tournament play provides an incredible, all-around experience for any player who truly loves the sport!
The Hudson Demolition has made a reputable name for itself and has won many local tournaments and has earned a few top titles. Last year the 12U and 14U teams placed high in the state tournaments and placed 1st and 2nd in several tournaments. Historically the 2004 Demolition 14U team won the Massachusetts 14U "B" State Championship and the 2004 New England Regional 14U "B" Championship. The 2002 Demolition 12U team won the Massachusetts 12U "B" State Championship and the 2002 New England Regional 12U "B" Championship. This team also placed 17th in the ASA National East 12U "B" Tournament in Montgomery, Alabama.
