Where do I send my forms?

Do I have to register online? 
 

No you do not have to register online.

You may register for camp off line (paper registration) by downloading, completing and returning the camp brochure via USPS.

A check for the full amount must be included with your off-line registration. Credit cards are accepted through online registration only.

Confirmation and necessary paperwork will be sent via email once your registration is received.

Are there any discounts offered? 
 

For groups of 8 or more a discount of $25 per camper is offered.

Resident campers (8 or more): $425 each

Commuter campers (8 or more): $355 each

Youth Campers (8 or more) $200 each

Georgetown University  Main Campus, Medical Center and Law School Employees contact Arlisa Williams for employee discount.

Can Teams attend? 
 

Yes, teams can attend but they will be trained as individual campers not as a team. Participants will be broken down by skill level and teammates may be trained in different groups.

What is the camp refund policy?

 

RESIDENT CAMPERS: All monies, minus a $25.00 processing fee, will be returned until June 25, 2010

COMMUTER CAMPERS: All monies minus a $25.00 process fee will be returned until and June 25, 2009

YOUTH CAMPERS: All monies minus a $25.00 processing fee will be returned until June 18, 2009

There are no refunds after these dates.

What forms are required in order for my child to participate?


Prior to participation in camp, a health form must be completed by parents and doctor, and a permission/waiver form must be completed by parents and campers.

What items should my child bring to camp?

 

All Campers: Your child will also need to bring t-shirts, shorts, volleyball shoes, socks, knee pads, casual shoes (i.e. flip flops), and spending money for snacks and the Hoya Pro Shop.

Resident Campers: For the residence hall, your daughter will need to bring the following: towels, twin-size sheets, blanket, pillow, alarm clock, toiletries, and pajamas.

Youth Campers: pool attire in addition to items all campers should bring

Where and when is check in and check-out?

Youth Campers (July 12-16, 2010):

Check-in and check-out will take place at McDonough Arena. Check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 12, 2010. Drop off on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings will begin at 8:45 a.m. Camp sessions will conclude at 4:00 Monday through Thursday and 12:00 noon on Friday.

Beginners Skills Camp(July 19-21, 2010)

Resident Campers:

Check-in and check-out will take place at McDonough Arena. Check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2010. Check out will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2010.

Commuter Campers

Check-in and check-out will take place at McDonough Arena. Check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2010. Camp sessions will conclude at 8:30 each evening. Drop off on Tuesday and Wednesday morning will begin at 8:45 a.m. Camp will end at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 21, 2010.

Advanced Skills Camp(July 21-23, 2010)

Resident Campers:

Check-in and check-out will take place at McDonough Arena. Check-in will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Check out will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 23, 2010.

Commuter Campers

Check-in and check-out will take place at McDonough Arena. Check-in will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Camp sessions will conclude at 8:30 on Wednesday and Thursday. Drop off on Thursday and Friday morning will begin at 8:45 a.m. Camp will end at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 23, 2010.

How do I get to camp? (Driving directions)

Campus Map

From Washington, DC:

From Northwest Washington: take Wisconsin Avenue south to M Street. Turn right. Take M St. through Georgetown and past the Key Bridge. Stay in right lane. Bear right into campus through the Canal Road entrance (1 light after the Exxon Station).

From Southeast Washington: take Pennsylvania Ave. West to Independence Ave. Bear left. Take Independence to 12th St., N.W., and turn right. Take 12th St. to K St. and turn left. Follow K St. to Whitehurst Freeway. Turn left onto Canal Rd. Stay in right lane. Bear right into campus through the Canal Road entrance.

From Northeast Washington: take Rhode Island Ave. west until it feeds into M St. Take M St. through Georgetown and past the Key Bridge. Stay in right lane. Bear right into campus through the Canal Road entrance (1 light after the Exxon Station).

From Maryland:

From I-270: take I-270 south toward Washington. Exit Rte. 355 Wisconsin Ave. south to Washington. Follow through Friendship Heights and Tenley Town. Keep following to M Street. Turn right on M St. Go through five traffic signals (past the Key Bridge). Stay in right lane. Bear right into campus through the Canal Road entrance (1 light after the Exxon Station).

From I-95: take I-95 south to I-495 west to Silver Spring. Exit Rte. 355 Wisconsin Ave. south to Washington. Follow through Friendship Heights and Tenley Town. Keep following to M Street. Turn right on M St. Go through five traffic signals (past the Key Bridge). Stay in right lane. Bear right into campus through the Canal Road entrance (1 light after the Exxon Station).

From Baltimore-Washington Parkway or Rte. 50 Westbound: take B-W Parkway or Rte. 50 west to New York Ave. Take New York Ave. to L St. Bear right. Turn left on 10th St. and then right on K St. Follow K St. to Whitehurst Freeway. Turn left onto Canal Rd. Stay in right lane. Bear right into campus through the Canal Road entrance.

From Northern Virginia:

From I-66 (after 9:00 a.m.): take I-66 east to the Rosslyn - Key Bridge exit. Stay in left lane and follow signs to Key Bridge. Cross Key Bridge, staying in second lane from left. Turn left onto Canal Rd. Stay in right lane. Bear right into campus through the Canal Road entrance.

From I-395: take I-395 north. Exit Washington Blvd. and follow signs to Rosslyn and Key Bridge. Cross Key Bridge, staying in second lane from left. Turn left onto Canal Rd. Stay in right lane. Bear right into campus through the Canal Road entrance.

From Rte. 50 Eastbound: Follow Rte. 50 east and take Rosslyn - Key Bridge exit. Follow signs to Key Bridge. Cross Key Bridge, staying in second lane from left. Turn left onto Canal Rd. Stay in right lane. Bear right into campus through the Canal Road entrance.

From George Washington Parkway (after 9 a.m.): Take the G-W Parkway south. Exit Key Bridge. Cross Key Bridge, staying in second lane from left. Turn left onto Canal Rd. Stay in right lane. Bear right into campus through the Canal Road entrance.

Where can I park?

For registration, check-in and check-out, you must park in the Southwest Quad Garage located at the Canal Road entrance. Per university policy, you will be charged the going rate for visitor parking.

Commuter and Youth campers can be dropped off and picked up in front of McDonough after the initial check-in at no cost.

Driver's must remain in their vehicle during drop-off and pick-up. If you plan on leaving your vehicle even for a short period of time, you must park in the Southwest Quad Garage.

Do you provide transportation to and from the airport?

Yes, we provide transportation to and from Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). You must provide us with your child's travel itinerary so that we can make arrangements.

Transportation Fee (round trip) Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) $10.00

Itinerary and fee due by June 20, 2009

What meals are provided?


 

Resident campers will stay overnight at camp residence hall and receive all meals during camp. All resident campers will be housed in McCarthy Residence Hall and will be supervised by both Georgetown University residence hall supervisors and volleyball camp staff 24 hours a day.

Commuter campers will not reside in the on campus. Lunch and dinner will be provided to Commuter campers.

Youth campers will be provided lunch Monday through Thursday. No meals will be provided on Friday.

All meals will be eaten in Leo O'Donovan Cafeteria, an all you can eat dining facility catered by Aramark, located a short distance from McDonough Gymnasium. Campers will be escorted to and supervised in the dining hall by a member of the Georgetown Volleyball Camp Staff.

Is there a medical staff at camp?

 

A certified athletic trainer will be on-site during all camp sessions.
