Kellen McGriff Pitches 3-2 Victory over Kingwood Varsity
March 24, 2007 - Wildcats Kellen McGriff(Humble)pitched seven innings and brought home a 3-2 Humble (2-18) upset victory over rival Kingwood Varsity (12-4). In what has become the Houston areas toughest rivalry, the unranked and struggling Humble Wildcats squared of with the #19 Kingwood Mustangs on Friday night. True to form the rivalry held up, but the record didn't. The Humble Wildcats pulled out the victory in a come from behind 3-2 victory in the seventh inning over the Kingwood Mustangs on the performance of their sophomore pitcher McGriff and a game winning RBI hit by their designated hitter DuPont.

Kody Hinze is Top Slugger in District 5A
April 5, 2005 - Wildcats Kody Hinze (Nimitz) is the top slugger in the Houston Chronicle Class 5A baseball with eight (8) Home Runs. Kody is also listed 4th among 5A players with 56 at bats and 29 hits, 27 runs batted in, and a batting average of .518.


Andrew Cashner Strikes out Six and Receives the Win
April 12, 2005 - Wildcats Andrew Cashner (Conroe)was the winning pitcher in a 3-2 victory over Huntsville in District 14-5A play. The Conroe Tigers scored three runs in the first inning and Andrew Cashner and Stephan Darnell combined for a one-hitter in the 3-2 victory over Huntsville at Kate Barr Ross Park on Friday night. Cashner (2 – 1) went five innings and earned the win, allowing no hits, while striking out six and walking two.

April 19, 2005 - Andrew Cashner (Conroe) picks up his 4th win (4-2) with the Tigers 9-6 win over Klein Collins. Jeremy Atkins (John Cooper) (7-1) has 57 strikeouts in his first 40 innings, and his ERA of 0.35 is sixth best in the area.

Kody Hinze Hits Top Thirteenth Home Run
April 26, 2005 - With two Greater Houston High School Class 5A players not far behind in home runs, Kody Hinze (Nimitz)put his thirteenth of the season out of the park in helping his team to a 6 - 1 win over Eisenhower on Friday, April 29. Kody has led the Chronicle Home Runs Baseball Statistics for the entire season, and with 13 home runs he continues to be the top slugger in Class 5A. Kody is also is third in Batting with a .535 average, 71 at bats, 31 runs, 38 hits, and 36 runs batted in.

April 19, 2005 - Wildcats sluggers Anthony Sarao (Jersey Village) and Kody Hinze (Nimitz) are at the top of the High School Class 5A "Heap" in the Houston Chronicle Baseball Statistics. Anthony posted the top Class 5A average of .585 with 38 hits and 65 at bats, and Kody posted the second highest Class 5A average of .551 with 38 hits and 69 at bats. Kody also is leading by 3 home runs in Class 5A with 12 home runs.

Wildcats Jeremy Atkins Chronicle Athlete of the Week
Jeremy Atkins senior pitcher/shortstop pitched a no hitter with no walks and 9 strikeouts for John Cooper in the Coco Beach, Florida tournament. Jeremy was named the "Boys Athlete of the Week", in the Houston Chronicle "High School Week in Review" on Monday, March 20, 2006. In addition to pitching the game no hitter, Jeremy was an impressive 9 for 19 at the plate as John cooper went 6-0 in the tournament (Chronicle).


Hayden Crowder Chosen All District 2nd Baseman
May 24, 2005 - Hayden Crowder - P/2B/SS Wildcats 16U Red Team was honored at the Shepherd High School Athletics Banquet by being chosen as Honorable Mention All District 2nd Baseman in District 22-3A. Hayden was one of two Freshmen on varsity in District 22-3A, and the only Freshmen who started every game on varsity this past season. Hayden was also awarded an academic letter for keeping a 95 average through the season.
