* Miracles and Raiders in History Making "All Houston" Connie Mack Championship
Congratulations to the Houston Miracles and the Houston Raiders for a History Making AABC Connie Mack Regional Tournament. The Houston Miracles and the Houston Raiders being undefeated early on through Round 3 where they were paired off to play in Rouond 4 game 12 on Friday, July 25 at TCU, were both poised to advance to a History Making "All Houston" Championship Game. The Miracles defeated the Raiders (8-0)in Round 4, and went on to defeate the Dallas BAT (12-6)in Round 5 to advance to the Championship Game. The Raiders defeated the Dallas Tigers (11-9) in Round 5 to advance to the Championship Game. Histroy was made as there has never been an "All Houston" AABC South Plains Connie Mack Regional Championship Game. Not since 1999, when the Houston Wildcats went to the AABC Connie Mack World Series, has a Houston team won the Connie Mack South Plains Regional and advanced to the AABC Connie Mack World Series. AABC tournament play is Double Elimination with provisions for bye's when there are an odd number of remaining teams and Paring's after Round 3 to assure equality in byes and repeated opponents. All else being equal, winners must play winners and losers must play losers. Teams remain in subsequent rounds until their second lost.
