Welcome to the Connie Mack State Tournament hosted by Houston Wildcats Baseball, Houston, Texas. General information for the tournament and game status will be posted throughout the tournament. * Houston Wildcats Baseball Set to Host 2008 Connie Mack State Tournament July 16, 2008 - The Houston Wildcats organization is set to host the Connie Mack State Tournament on July 16 - 19, 2008 for qualified AABC teams. The purpose of the Connie Mack State is to determine a Championship team for advancing to the AABC Connie Mack Regional Tournament to be hosted at TCU and UTA beginning July 23. The tournament schedule and rules were distribution to all coaches, and they may be viewed by clicking on "Handouts". Greater Houston area local teams will start play on Wednesday July 16, and play for out-of-town teams will start on Thursday,July 17. Teams should plan to play at most two games per day. The Tournament Champion will be determined by Saturday, July 19. * Tournament Format The tournament is played in AABC Double Elimination format. Game results may be viewed by clicking on "Handouts". * Venues Tournament games are slated to be held at top quality high school baseball fields in the North Houston area (Conroe, Mangnolia). For directions and a map to tournament fields, click on "Maps and Directions". * College/Professional Scouting Area professional scouts and college coaches will be invited to the tournament. Participating teams are asked to have copies of their Official Team Roster available to interested college coaches and professional scouts. * Coolers Players are permited to have coolers in the dugout. The weather forecast indicates that the temperature will be in the 90's for the tournament, and players should have ample drinking warter to prevent overheating. Coolers will NOT be permitted in the stands at fields where the concessions are open and NO COOLERS signs are posted. * Special Notice We ask that everyone drive safely at all times. Please be advised that speed limits in the Montgomery and The Woodlands areas are strictly enforced. * Game Reports Team coaches have been provided a Game Report form and it is required that the winning coach call-in a completed game report for each game. The Game Reports may be viewed by clicking on "Handouts". |
