2009 Texas Invitational Tournament
   

Welcome to the 2009 Texas Invitational Tournament hosted by Houston Wildcats Baseball. General information for the tournament and game status will be posted on this webpage throughout the tournament.


* Tournament Champion and Runner Up Decided
June 23, 2009 - Brazos Valley Renegades are the Champions and the Banditos North are the Runner Up teams of the 2009 Texas Invitational Tournament 18U Division. Cookies E-Train are the Champions and the Action Baseball Club are the Runner Up of the 2009 Texas Invitational Tournament 16U Division. Game results (Win/Lost/Tie/Bracket Standings)through Saturday, June 20 and a Press Release of the Semifinals and Championship games are available. The Tournament and Game Results may be viewed by clicking on Standings

* Houston Wildcats Baseball Set to Host 2009 Texas Invitational
June 10, 2009 - The Houston Wildcats organization is set to host the Texas Invitational Tournament on June 18 - 21, 2009 for 16U AND 18U select baseball teams. The tournament schedule and rules will be posted as plans are finalized. Greater Houston area teams will start play on Thursday, June 18, and play for out-of-town teams will start on Friday, June 19. Teams should plan to play as many as two games per day. Games required to determine pool play standings, and the Chapionship and Runner-up games will be scheduled on Sunday, June 21.

The purpose of the Texas Invitational Tournament is to provide competition at the highest level for top high school baseball players of playing ages 16U and 18U who aspire to play college level baseball. Our vision is to continually improve the level of competition.

* 16U and 18U Divisions
The tournament will be formatted in 16-under and 18-under divisions with a 4 game guarantee in Pool-play format. After Pool-play, top teams will play to determine the Champion and Runner-up teams for each division.

* Venues
Tournament games are slated to be held at top quality high school baseball fields in the North Houston area (Magnolia West, Mangnolia, and College Park. An additional field at De Leon Park was made available for adding teams. De Leon Park Friday's games will be played on De Leon Field #1 (field with grandstand) and Saturday's games will be played on De Leon Field #2 (field with wooden outfield fence. * Tournament Schedule and Rules
The 2009 Texas Inviational game schedule and rules may be viewed by clicking on Schedule

* College/Professional Scouting
Area professional scouts and college coaches will be invited to the tournament. Participating teams are asked to have copies of their Official Team Roster available to interested college coaches and professional scouts.   

* Coolers
Players are permited to have coolers in the dugout. Weather for this time of year has temperatures in the 90's, and players should have ample drinking warter to prevent overheating. Forecasts as of Thursday, June 17 at 6:00 PM are predicting a hot and dry weekend. Coolers will NOT be permitted in the stands at fields where the concessions are open and NO COOLERS signs will be posted.

* Special Notice
We ask that everyone drive safely at all times. Please be advised that speed limits in the Montgomery and The Woodlands areas are strictly enforced.

* Game Line Scores
Team coaches are provided a Game Report form and it is requested that the winning coach call-in the line scores for each game. The Line Scores for the 2009 Texas Inviational may be viewed by clicking on Line Scores
