2010 Summer Tennis Program
The summer tennis program is about to begin, with the first session starting on June 7. Free tennis classes will be offered at 35 Houston-area parks during the morning and afternoon hours. Participants in this program will be eligible to compete in our art and writing contests as well as the Arthur Ashe Essay and Art Contest. Complete information about the summer program can be found in our 2010 summer brochure, please see the handouts tab to download it. All of the entry forms for the art and writing contests can also be found at the handouts tab. The NJTL Raffle has officially commenced. Dozens of prizes are available, but there are only 400 tickets, so please see the HTA NJTL Raffle page for more information on this fundraising campaign.

Brendon Lord Scholarship to the Rice University Summer Tennis Camp
Brendon Lord, an avid tennis player and frequent student at the Rice University Tennis Camps passed away in November of 2009. In his memory, Rice Men’s Tennis Coach Ron Smarr established the Brendon Lord Scholarship to be given to a deserving student in the National Junior Tennis & Learning programs. If you would like to be considered please email Emily Schaefer at emily.schaefer@cityofhouston.net with why you would be a good candidate for this honor. The scholarship covers one week at the 2010 Rice Tennis Camps that run June 1-July 29, 2010. For camp details, go to www.RiceTennisCamps.com.

Winter & Spring Sessions Now Starting
The winter session of NJTL for ages 6-18 starts Tuesday, January 19th for Tuesday and Thursday classes and January 20th for Monday and Wednesday classes. The winter session concludes March 11th. The spring session will run March 22nd to May 13th. Please see the Handouts tab for the winter/spring brochure.

End of Summer Program
The NJTL summer program is coming to an end this Thursday with the Festival, which will be held at Memorial Park. The fall program will start on August 31 and more information will be added soon.

First Day of Summer Program
