Why should my player join Horizon Little League?

Some parents are understandably confused as to which is the best organization for their young ballplayer.  Parents today can face a dizzying array of options and determining which league to play in can produce anxiety for both parent and player.  Despite the confusion, Little League remains the premier youth baseball organization in the country.  In fact, Little League is the largest organized youth sports program of any kind in the world.  What separates Little League from the rest?  Consider the following:

  1. Little League is community-based.  Whereas many other organizations provide large and sometimes ill-defined boundries, each Little League exists in a small, tightly defined boundary.  Horizon Little League's boundaries can be found here.  As a result, your ballplayer will play alongside and compete against their friends, neighbors, and classmates, while parents are saved the hastle of long trips to and from games on distant fields.
  2. Little League strives for competitive balance.  Each spring, Horizon Little League holds a large and comprehensive draft.  Players are placed in the division most appropriate for their age and skill level.  Once placed at the appropriate level, players are then drafted by coaches onto teams.  This process helps to provide an even playing field for Little League teams and players.
  3. Little League is focused on the well-being of the young athlete.  In order to protect its players from injury, Little League has adopted innovative rules that are followed by all of its charters, including Horizon.  In fact, in response to suggestions from medical experts, Little League became the only youth baseball organization to adopt strict pitch count rules for its pitchers.
  4. Only Horizon Little League is your player's path to the Little League World Series.  Little League holds tournaments for division champions and league all stars at the conclusion of each season.  These tournaments begin at the District level, proceed to state, regions, and can ultimately lead your player to the Little League World Series!
