Letter from the Coaching Director
I believe that the youth are our future and I plan to focus my energy to make sure our recreational and young competitive teams are getting the training and attention that they deserve. From what I have heard from others and observed myself, it is my goal to be able to provide player training, coach training, and make sure there is a fun and positive atmosphere so everyone can continue to enjoy the game of soccer.
Our Recreational program this year will consist of U6 and U8 age groups. Each team will have its own set of parent coaches, but will be assisted every week by qualified Hopkins Dynamo trainers. They will start each session by taking part in a 15 minute skill development with a trainer. Each session will end with 2 teams playing against each other in a 4 v 4 game lasting approximately 35 minutes. Every team will have 2 functions per week, either on Monday/Wednesdays, or Tuesday/Thursdays. Each function will last 1 hour.
Players that are U9-U12 will be included in our travel program. Each travel team will also have their own set of parent coaches. As part of our travel program, they will also receive 6 trainings (on their playing nights) with club trainers before their season starts. They will also receive 6 additional trainings on Sunday evenings in May and June to help them progress throughout their season. Travel teams will also have the opportunity to participate in tournaments and take part in districts and the state tournament at the end of their season.
I believe that Hopkins Dynamo is heading in a positive direction for the development of our young players. We are putting a system in place to not only help your kids develop on the soccer field, but hopefully provide a fun and positive experience that they will carry with them the rest of their lives. I am very excited and looking forward to the opportunity to make a difference in your young soccer player’s life.
See you on the field!!!!
