Jr. Midget Game Recap (October 27, 2012)
Hollister Junior Midgets vs South Marin Broncos (22 – 6)
Emotions ran high as Hollister's junior midgets took the field for the
first round of playoffs against the South Marin Broncos. The first half
of the game teetered and tottered with both sides meeting head on. The
Vikings fought for a handful of sacks thanks to quick moves off the line
by Kyle Manley, Michael Zarate, Michael Zaragoza and Michael Camacho. A
sack by Ishmael Medina on the quarterback's blindside knocked the ball
loose, although the Vikings were unable to score from that possession.
Three plays later, after a Tristan Wahl tackle for no gain, Zaragoza
timed the Broncos runner and ripped the ball out! Medina recovered the
fumble and the Vikings charged down the field. Medina zig zagged the
ball on two plays and Zaragoza bulleted down field to gain a first down.
Andres Soto took the direct snap up the middle and with blocks by
Medina and Antonio Caro, Soto broke away from the pack and 55 yards
later crossed the end line! Soto scored all eight points as his point
after kick was good and the Vikings started to take some wind out of the
Broncos sails.
Strong defensive play was the game plan for the Vikings. Matthew Manley
bolted past his blocker to get to the quarterback again and again. Not
to be left out of the sacks, Devin Beltran, Zaragoza, Caro and Camacho
also chalked up multiple sacks throughout the contest. After a turnover
on downs due to intense pressure by the Viking defense, Soto received
the punt and found the sideline with blocks by Kyle Manley, Medina and
Camacho. Without anyone close enough to match Soto's speed, he easily
crossed the end line for another Viking touchdown! Soto continued to
score as his point after kick was good. Nathaniel Newman threw down the
Bronco runner and Caro sacked the quarterback to send the Vikings into
the locker room. Hollister soundly captured the half with a score of
16-0.
On the ensuing kickoff, Zaragoza picked up the ball and crashed over a
defender to bring the ball just over the midfield line. Quarterback
Clint Fuentes handed the ball off to Joseph Lyter, then Marc Cox but was
unable to convert the down. Diego Fisher sent a booming kick inside the
ten to pin the Broncos back. Try as they might, the Broncos were
stymied. Owen Branon shrugged his blocker and tackled the runner to
prevent any gained yards while Camacho flew through the line and tracked
the runner for a loss of yards to end the quarter. Soto could not quiet
his feet as he grabbed the first handoff of the fourth quarter from his
own ten yard line and ran downhill for 90 long yards untouched!
Although the point after was unsuccessful, the Vikings held onto a
commanding lead, 22-0. The rest of the game, the Broncos' crowd was
quiet until the last two minutes. The Vikings nearly turned possession
over early, but a crafty scramble by Fisher and blocks by Sean Nelson
and center Cade Neece were able to earn the first down. The Vikings
couldn't convert the down and the Broncos had less than two minutes to
try to post some points. Wahl, Zaragoza and Camacho held tight to
runners to force the quarterback to throw. The short pass and first down
were complete. Axel Rodriguez gave chase and brought the quarterback
down as he rolled outside but the Broncos kept inching towards the red
zone. A valiant goal line effort by the Vikings was not enough as the
Broncos eeked into the end zone on fourth down and with only twenty
seconds left! The point after was blocked and the Vikings live to see
another round of playoffs with a final score of 22-6. In the next round
of playoffs if the defense reacts the same it will be a match worth
watching!

Pee Wee Game Recap (October 27, 2012)
With smash mouth football, PeeWee Vikings advance to the next round of playoffs defeating the, until now, undefeated Campbell Bears with what was to be a nail biting game 21 – 20.
What a game this turned
out to be, both teams fought hard but PeeWee Vikings character and do not give
up attitude prevailed in the end. In the first quarter the Bears would strike
first on a pass to #20, the failed point after would make the score 0 – 6 Bears.
Vikings offense would get it going but a mishandled handoff to Peter Felice
would turn over the ball just before the end of the quarter. Vikings defense
would start to kick in on all cylinders with a great TD saving tackle by Hunter
Raquet to start the second quarter. On the ensuing play, and eyes focused, defense
LT Christopher Prichett would recover a Bear bad snap giving the ball back to
Vikings offense. This would start a Viking smash mouth football with a doze of
Jonny Gonzalez and Peter Felice runs to take it down the field then end it with
a great slant 30 yard pass to Jonny Gonzalez who would bulldoze two of Bears
defense into the end zone to even the
score, a successful point after would give Vikings the lead 7 -0 with 8:44 left
in the half. Bears offense would then retaliate with a side pass to #2 who
found green on the left side and ran 65 yards for the touchdown to give the
Bears the lead once more, a failed extra point would make it 7 – 12. Unfortunately on next possession Vikings
would turn it over on the first play with a fumble by Ryan Mille but his defense would show up again just like they
did for Peter Felice and halted the Bears offensive drive twice on downs, this
with a tremendous sack by Hunter Raquet, the score would hold in the half.
Bears would start the second half but Vikings defense dominance would continue, Bears #21 would run into a hard wall by the name of Matthew Hernandez stopping him on his tracks. Defense Ryan Miller would contribute to the defense punishment with a touchdown saving tackle followed by backfield tackle by Alberto Rodriguez to give the offence the ball once again. Vikings offense did not waste time with another doze of Jonny Gonzalez and Peter Felice to move the ball down the field, Jonny Gonzalez would make his presence once more in the score board with a 55 yard TD run squeezing through Bears defense front line giving Vikings the lead once again, Christopher Prichett would nail the extra point making it 15 – 12 Vikings with 1:58 left in the third quarter. Vikings special teams Alberto Rodriguez would stick Bears #80 on his chest halting his punt return, then once again LB Matthew Hernandez would show Viking smash mouth football with a thundering hit on Bears #21 in the backfield for a loss of yards. Bears offence had no chance against a persistent Viking defense and turned it over on downs in midfield. In the fourth quarter Vikings offense would gain yards with runs by Peter Felice and Jonny Gonzalez but unfortunately Bears defense would prevail this time. That would due no good as Vikings D would dominate once more, it only took Viking offense two run plays by Jonny Gonzalez to find the endzone for the third time in the game, the failed extra point would make the Viking lead 21 – 12 with 5:29 left in the game. Bears offence would wake up and with a slant pass to #21 took it almost to the house if it wasn’t for a TD saving tackle by Matthew Trimble on Vikings 2 yard line. This is where it got to be a nail bitter, Vikings D would pound Bears offence on the first play causing a fumble on the 1 yard line then recovered by the Vikings, the crowd went wild and Bears were stunned. With a turn of events the dreaded fumble came back again but this time on Vikings hands and recovered by Bears in the endzone for a touchdown, a successful point after would make the score 21 – 20 Vikings with 4:43 left in the game. It was a battle of the defense from then on, Bears took to the air and on their final hope with 4th down and 25yards to go on their own 10 yard line a long pass was almost caught if it wasn’t for a great defensive play by safety Matthew Trimble, in the end Vikings would prevail and be the better team advancing to the next round of playoffs……GO VIKINGS!!!

Jr. Midget Game Recap (October 20, 2012)
Hollister Viking Junior Midgets vs Sunnyvale 14 – 6
After the half the Vikings continued to bring intensity onto the field. Camacho didn't let up and teamed up with Antonio Caro and Zaragoza to slow Sunnyvale from converting downs. When teammates stood up a Sunnyvale runner, Camacho stripped the ball! Unable to earn a first down, the Viking's Fisher punted. Sunnyvale switched to the air game. A long ball was caught by a Sunnyvale receiver and Beltran came through defensively to tackle the receiver and save a touchdown. The Vikings weren't able to swat away Sunnyvale completely and a runner snuck into the end zone a few plays later. Knowing the game was on the line, Zaragoza timed the snap perfectly and blocked the point after attempt! Hollister led 8-6. More hard hitting action ensued, with Newman, Ishmael Medina, Caro, Owen Branon and Fuentes doing their best to pressure the Sunnyvale offense and forced a turnover on downs. On the first play of the possession, Kyle Manley took the handoff and was nearly shut down at the line but kept his feet driving, spun outside the pack and found himself alone with thirty long yards between him and pay dirt! Although the point after was blocked Hollister would continue to battle until the last second of the game. Hollister walked away from this one triumphantly bruised and scratched but happy, with a score of 14 – 6.
Said Coach Jeff Valenzuela after the game, "I am so thankful for all these boys and for this season. I am so proud and can't thank each of you enough." With Hollister in the middle of a tight playoff race we can only hope to have another battle on the field next week.

Vikings Battle Bears
The Hollister Tiny Mites West put on yet another performance against the Campbell Bears early Sunday morning. Tiny Mites West raised their ante and utilized their momentum from last weeks’ play to battle against the Bears. The Vikings played exceptional on both sides of the ball as both teams worked the gridiron to make for an intense, muddy game in the mist.
The Vikings were sound with a solid from the defensive line. Mateo Dozal, Angel Zendejaz, Gabriel Sanchez, Henry Torres, Wyatt Curry and Zander Svenningsen all worked together in stopping the Bears offense with group tackling. Tony Salcedo, Juan Cortez, Jr., Jayden Pritchett, Noah Dewey and Julius Orozco also had key tackles throughout the game and a few quarterback sacks from Issac Barragan, Cortez and Pritchett all going for losses.
Hollister’s offense moved the ball well down field. The offensive line consisting of Michael Hauser, Dozal, Zendajaz, Sanchez, Torres, Curry and Svenningsen all provided plenty of protection throughout the game. Jr. Midget Game Recap (October 6, 2012)
Hollister vs Brentwood (22 – 16)
The Hollister Viking Junior midgets were focused and ready for the match up against Brentwood on a blustery fall day. The Vikings set out to improve on their 3-1 record. Neither team would score until the second quarter when Hollister's defense forced Brentwood to punt after a dismal series. Quarterback Diego Fisher, back after a one-game injury break, was eager to test his offense again. From their own 43 yard line, Fisher launched a fifteen yard pass into the waiting arms of Tristan Wahl who was able to secure the ball down to the Brentwood 43. Runner Andres Soto took the handoff and with blocks by Matthew Manley and Michael Zaragoza and some shifty footwork, Soto gets down to the ten yard line. Fisher went back to pass but after getting pressure from the defense, was forced to scramble. A solid block by Adam Mendoza helped Fisher step easily into the end zone for the first score! The point after was no good and Hollister led the contest 6-0. Hollister's defense was stacked with heavy-hitting tacklers Devin Beltran, Michael Camacho, Kyle Manley, Cade Neece and others. Brentwood had a shot at getting on the board but Wahl anticipated the throw and intercepted the ball! Soto caught a short pass on the next play and moved the chains to the 25 yard line. Excellent blocking by Neece, Kyle Manley, and Kane DeAlba gave Fisher time to find Wahl in the end zone! The kick by Soto for the point after was good and with 19 seconds left in the game Hollister was running away with the lead 14-0.
Brentwood came back after the half ready to strike back and they did on
their first possession of the second half with a throw into the end
zone. The score was 14-8 minutes into the third quarter. On the next
defensive stand Clint Fuentes and Matthew Manley berated the quarterback
and forced incomplete passes. Abram Pasillas tackled a runner at the
line of scrimmage and Beltran sealed a gap and tackled the ball carrier
to take possession back. On the ensuing Brentwood punt, Matthew Manley
blocked the kick and Zaragoza recovered which gave the Vikings great
field position. Fisher stepped back to throw but, feeling the pressure
again, decided to scramble for 20 yards and scored a touchdown! Soto's
point after kick was good and Hollister would finish adding points,
22-0. Brentwood set up another score late in the fourth quarter. Fuentes
blitzed but couldn't reach the quarterback before he threw a long ball
that landed in his receivers arms. The game ended with a score 22-16 and
the Vikings road trip continues next week as they prepare to improve
their 4-1 record.

Salinas received first to start the game and drove down the field from Vikings 45 to strike first with a quarterback keep on the left side from Vikings 35 yard line. Jr. Midget Game Recap (September 30, 2012)
Hollister Junior Midget Vikings vs. Salinas, Salinas won 6 – 12
The Hollister Junior Midgets, with a 3 – 0 record in regular season play, were up against stiff competition this week. Salinas’ team is a powerhouse with quick outside defenders and a steady presence on the line.
Salinas surprised the home crowed and scored on their first possession of the game. Andres Soto started the series with two tackles to keep Salinas at bay and Nathaniel Newman stood up the runner trying to come up the middle. The next play, Salinas was facing a third and long and snuck their runner up the middle for a touchdown. The point after was no good and Salinas led a few minutes into the game 6 – 0. As the second quarter began the Vikings’ Devin Beltran and Tristan Wahl had slamming tackles that stopped the Salinas drive at the ten yard line. Salinas, unable to move the ball on fourth down thanks to Matthew Manley and Beltran, turned the ball over on downs. Hollister’s offensive put their wildcat formation in and found some quick traction. Runner Ishmael Medina got the carry twice in a row and grabbed enough yardage for a first down. Soto took the direct snap and with a gap-opening block by Beltran, sprinted up the field for a 60 yard carry and brought the Vikings onto the Salinas 25 yard line! On the next play, Soto took the snap again and timed his run to follow blockers Medina and Michael Zaragoza to earn another Viking first down just inside the ten. On a tricky misdirection play Soto tried his arm out and hit Tristan Wahl in stride for a Viking touchdown! Although the point after was no good, Hollister answered point for point and going into the half the game was a tightrope walk, tied at 6 – 6.
The half began with Hollister making a strong defensive stand. Kyle Manley, Antonio Caro, Zaragoza and Beltran forced Salinas into a fourth down and long situation. The Salinas runner nearly broke the defense as he swept up the sideline but Soto had a good angle on the runner and tackled him well behind the first down marker. Vikings wildcat offense stepped on the field again and Medina’s direct snap carry electrified the crowd as he ran fifteen yards. Followed by a Zaragoza sprint up the middle for a first down, the Vikings charged down the field. A few miscues in the offense and Adam Mendoza was forced to punt. In the fourth quarter, the energy on the field was palpable – and when Soto intercepted a Salinas pass at midfield, it looked as though the Vikings would be poised to score again. A fumbled ball near the twenty yard line gave Salinas great field position and forced the defense to work. Michael Camacho, Sean Nelson and Owen Branon kept the runners out of the end zone and Salinas turned the ball over on downs feet from the end zone! The drive would be short lived as Salinas intercepted the ball on the very next play and ran it to the 2 yard line. One after another, Salinas runners were tackled; Zaragoza, Clint Fuentes, then Nelson. With 1:44 left in the game, Salinas wore down the defense after nine plays within the ten yard line and scored a touchdown. The point after was blocked by the Viking line, but Salinas walked off the field victorious, 12 – 6.
“We were missing a key player with our starting quarterback out, but the boys stepped up and did their best. I’m proud of how they played today… they didn’t give up. A few penalties set us back and that didn’t help,” said Head Coach Jeff Valenzuela. “We’ll just have to keep working in practice.”

Jr. Midget Game Recap (September 22, 2012)
Hollister Viking Junior Midgets vs. Sunnyvale Rockets 8 – 0
The Vikings started the contest on a strong defensive front, as
Devin Beltran and Michael Zaragoza tackled runners on the first three
downs of the game. Ishmael Medina carried the ball on the next series to
earn a first down but a few penalties stalled the Vikings offense. The
Sunnyvale Rockets were shut down as the Viking defense ate up runners.
Kyle and Matthew Manley double teamed the Sunnyvale line and worked
together to sack the quarterback for a big loss. Center Sean Nelson and
quarterback Diego Fisher found a rhythm early in the second quarter.
Fisher connected with Tristan Wahl who fought through two defenders to
earn a first down. Two short runs by Medina and the Vikings faced fourth
down and 11 yards to go. Head coach Jeff Valenzuela pulled out a trick
play from the back of his playbook and Zaragoza caught a direct snap
then jetted up the middle for 15 yards to move the chains. Medina had
the next carry and ate up yards weaving around the defense to gain
another Viking first down! Two plays later Fisher hid behind a Medina
block and easily crossed the end line for a touchdown! Andres Soto's
point after kick was good and the Vikings strike first 8-0. Nathaniel
Newman sealed the half with a blasting tackle.
The Vikings suffered a setback as quarterback Fisher is sidelined with an injury before the second half and Cade Neece was given the reigns of the offense. Although the Vikings were unable to add any more points, the Viking defense lit up the Sunnyvale runners. Nearly fooled on a reverse, Medina made a touchdown-saving tackle in the open field. Michael Camacho racked up two sacks and three solo tackles for the day. Jake Deidrick and Clint Fuentes couldn't be stopped and tackled behind the line to stomp any drive Sunnyvale tried to muster. Good pass coverage by Soto and Wahl shut down the glimmer of a Sunnyvale air attack.
Said Head Coach Valenzuela, "I have no expectations for these boys... I want them to keep moving forward but just focus on the next game. They all did great - the linebackers, Camacho, Zaragoza, the whole line, Branon, the Manleys, they all pulled together and did great. I am very proud of them!"

Jr. Midget Game Recap (September 15, 2012)
Hollister Viking Junior Midgets vs. Gilroy Browns, 36-12
The Vikings focused on blocking and defense this week at practice and it showed in the match up against the Gilroy Browns. Within two minutes, the Vikings strike first with two Ishmael Medina runs to move close to the end zone. Next, quarterback Diego Fisher aired out a long ball into the waiting arms of Antonio Caro. Viking linebackers Michael Camacho, Cade Neece and
Michael Zaragoza stuffed the Browns runners and a fumble recovered by Jake Diedrick would give the Vikings another possession. The Vikings set up their next score on a reverse off the Gilroy punt. Tristan Wahl caught the ball and tossed to Andres Soto just before getting tackled and Soto jetted past the half field marker. Fisher executed a 15 yard swing pass to fullback Zaragoza, who bolted down to the 20 yard line. Fisher tested his arm once again with a laser to Wahl, and thanks to a leveling block by Adam Mendoza, got in the end zone! Gilroy was unable to move the chains again with sacks by Kyle Manley and Hunter Torres for a huge loss, followed by a blasting Clint Fuentes tackle. The Vikings didn't stop pursuing the points and on the next possession Medina took the handoff at the Hollister 35 and ran 50 yards to the 15! Blocks by Marc Martinez, Wahl and Caro ushered Fisher into the end zone for a rushing touchdown of his own. The end of the half was marked by tackles by Nathaniel Newman, Zaragoza, Camacho and Caro and the Vikings went into the locker room ahead 18-0.
The second half of the contest was much of the same. Kyle Manley and the rest of the defense tackled everything that ran at them, and when the Gilroy runner was stood up Soto ripped the ball from his arms and ran to the end zone! Seconds later Gilroy responded with a touchdown run of their own. The Vikings didn't let up for a minute however, as on the next possession Medina took the handoff 56 yards for his own rushing touchdown! Joseph Lyter and Soto made key blocks to help Medina reach the end zone. Matthew Zarate tackled the Gilroy kickoff receiver and after more run-stopping tackles by Camacho, M. Martinez and Devin Beltran, the Vikings earned the ball back again. Zarate and Sean Nelson leveled their blocks to give Fisher enough time to throw to Mendoza out in the flat and then ran for twenty yards to give the Vikings 6 more points. Going into the fourth quarter, the Vikings lead is solidified at 36-6. Although Gilroy would score again in the fourth quarter, the Vikings resoundingly defeat their local rivals 36-12.
Said head coach Jeff Valenzuela, "I'm proud of these boys. Coming off that loss a few weeks ago, they've bounced back and have all been working really hard. (Kane) DeAlba, (Owen) Branon and the line blocked well today."

HOLLISTER VIKING JAMBOREE GAME RECAPS (AUGUST 26, 2012)
Hollister Viking Jamboree Game Recaps (August 26, 2012)
JR. MIDGET
8/26 Junior Midget Vikings vs. Morgan Hill Raiders
The Hollister Vikings 2012 jamboree kicks off the season with a solid win over the Morgan Hill Raiders. Head coach Jeff Valenzuela and assistant coaches have transformed receiver Diego Fisher into the team's quarterback and his performance at this weeks matchup show this players versatility and poise. The first minutes of the quarter fly by as Vikings linebacker Michael Zaragoza sacks the quarterback and forces a fumble that Matthew Manley picks up and runs with. The Vikings can't score on this possession as the ball is turned over just a few plays later but there is an air in the stadium that a strong Viking presence won't easily be squashed. Immoveable defense by the Vikings, notably safety Tristan Wahl, tackle Marc Martinez, linebacker Zaragoza, and defensive end M. Manley, hold up the Raider offense. With five Viking defenders charging the Raider quarterback, a weak pass is intercepted by M. Martinez, and with quick feet runs the ball to the Morgan Hill 35-yard line. With just over a minute left in the first quarter, Quarterback Fisher hands the ball smoothly to Kyle Manley and after busting through a Raider blocker, rushes down the sideline for a touchdown! Andres Soto's point after kick is good and Hollister is first on the scoreboard, 8-0. The second quarter is marked by more Viking dominance. Ishmael Medina and Michael Camacho work together on one down to stuff the Raider runner for a big loss of yards, and on fourth down of the same series, Soto steps up and grabs the Raider pass attempt for another Viking interception! Hollister runner K. Manley works the defense on two carries for a first down and Wahl catches a well-timed Fisher pass to set up the Vikings within striking distance. Although Medina weaves through the Raider defense for a quick 35 yards, an unfortunate fumble ends the Viking drive heading into the locker room with a lead of 8-0.
Hollister's Wahl receives the second half kickoff and after some great blocking by Devin Beltran and Antonio Caro, is able to run up the gap close to midfield. The Vikings weren't able to convert the down and Morgan Hill takes over on their own 45. Another Beltran tackle rattles the Raider offense and on the next play a fumbled snap is picked up by Medina for another turnover! Although great catches by Mendoza and Zaragoza get the Vikings close to scoring, the Vikings stutter again on the next possession and Morgan Hill takes over. On the next play, Morgan Hill can't secure the snap and Owen Branon jumps on it for yet another Viking possession! As they charge down the field, Fisher connects with a wide-open Wahl on the right side for another Hollister touchdown! Soto's booming point after is good again and the Vikings lead 16-0. Adam Mendoza, M. Manley and a few Viking gang tackles seem to stop any Raider momentum, but a Morgan Hill pass gets the Raiders down to the red zone. Wahl steps up and tackles the runner on the 1-yard line but the Raiders are able to squeak a runner through for their only score of the game with only two minutes left in the game.
The Vikings defense carried the team into the end of the game, not allowing the Raiders any big yards and the Vikings secure the first win of another hopeful season.
PEE WEE
The Hollister Vikings kicked off the season at the Jamboree with a tough win vs division 1 team M.H Raiders coming out with an 8 – 0 Victory. 2nd quarter, a 4th and 2 pass from QB #10 Miller to #14 De La Torre on Raiders 20 yard line was promising but raiders held up the Vikings short and took over on downs. Vikings defense held strong preventing the Raiders from leaving their own 20-yard line. On the ensuing drive, after a couple of tough carries by Felice and #40 Johnny Gonzales, the first and only touchdown of the game came to be on the hands of #44 Peter Felice from a 3rd and short on the Raiders 5 yard line to the left side,# 8 Valdez made it 8 – 0 Vikings on the point after kick.
3rd Quarter, A Raider QB ball mishandle on their own side of the field and recovered by Felice kicked off the second half of the game. Raiders later stripped the ball from a nice run by Trimble but Vikings defense held strong once more sending a high five to their fellow teammate stating “don't worry we got this”. Raiders were threatening with a few carries on the hand of #20 Tony Rodriguez but Vikings defense came through once more, quarter ended 8 – 0 Vikings.
4th Quarter, first carry was by Raquet for a 15 yards from his own 30 yard line. Raiders held the Vikings drive and geared towards Viking territory but Matthew Trimble and #47 Michael Esparza made their presence known with a tremendous hit to stop the run of Raider #25 in midfield. Hollister Viking Game Recaps (September 9, 2012)
Junior Midgets @ Campbell Bears
The Vikings, still feeling the pains of last week's lost, took the field in Campbell ready for redemption. It wouldn't come on the first play of the game, when a booming kick was caught by a Campbell Bear, who proceeded to weave in and out of the Viking special team for a score seconds into the game. The Vikings would answer that score with one of their own a few plays later. Quarterback Diego Fisher took the ball himself and avoided tackles to get the ball near midfield. Runner Ishmael Medina sprinted for another ten yards. Helped by a tough Hollister offensive line, a quick handoff to Andres Soto allowed him to cut through the Bear defense and he sprinted nearly 50 yards for a touchdown! Soto's kick was good and the Vikings bite back with an 8 – 6 lead. The Bears weren't able to move the ball on their next possession thanks to crunching tackles by Nathaniel Newman and Clint Fuentes. The Bears punted to Tristan Wahl was run for a touchdown but a Hollister penalty would bring it back. Medina is called on to run the ball again a few times for short yardage and a well timed Fisher pass to Adam Mendoza gave the Vikings a first down, nearly in the red zone. The Vikings turned to their short-yardage fullback Michael Zaragoza who took the carry and almost hit pay dirt, finally taken down at the 2-yard line. Zaragoza and Wahl worked together to block on the next play as Fisher sprinted across the end line for his own touchdown. The Vikings led the contest 14 – 6 to end the quarter.
Quarterback Cade Neece took over in the second quarter and with clean snaps from Kane DeAlba, runners Mark Cox, Joseph Lyter and Donald Torres crept the Vikings closer to the end zone. Unable to cross the line, the Vikings opted for a field goal and Soto's kick split the uprights. Hollister's lead kept growing at 17 – 6. The next Campbell series highlighted a tough Vikings defense. Michael Camacho, Owen Branon and Fuentes worked on the Bears runners and challenged them to find a seam. On third and long the Campbell runner cut to the outside and down the sideline for another 6 points, but the Bear's momentum would be short lived. On the ensuring kick, Soto grabbed the kick at his own twenty-yard line and, thanks to a cleat-removing block by Kyle Manley, sprinted for a touchdown! Soto scored the point after as well and the Vikings pulled away with the lead 25 – 12 with 11 seconds left in the half.
The second half of the game started with Zaragoza running two electrifying sprints to the outside to get the team within striking distance again. The call went to the Vikings go-to runner Medina who fought against the Campbell defense to inch closer to the end zone, but Fisher's pass was picked off on the next play and the Bears defender ran it back for a touchdown. Soto, not wanting to let the Bears breath, received the kick off and rushed around the opposing team for a touchdown of his own. Although this one was brought back for a Hollister penalty, Fisher responded by firing a laser to Wahl, who then cut across the field to the open field and a touchdown! Soto's point after was on target again and Hollister stretched the lead to 33 – 18. The Bears struggled to regain their composure as Michael Casarez hit the Campbell runner and caused a fumble and Wahl, in good position, picked up the turnover. Fisher would take it himself with blocks by Antonio Caro and Matthew Manley escorted the quarterback to the 12-yard line! Center Sean Nelson held the line well and allowed Fisher to step outside and, with a block by Medina, ran for another Viking touchdown! The point after was snapped low and Soto opted to run for the point. With a score of 40 – 18, the Hollister boys head into the fourth quarter with spirits high. Abram Pasillas on special teams knocked the Bears receiver down and Matthew Manley tackled on the next play to stall the Bears offense. The last score of the game would come late in the fourth quarter. Newman and Donald Torres both tracked down Campbell runners in subsequent plays and the ball was in Vikings hands again. Workhouse runner Medina tucked the ball and followed blocks by Marc Martinez and Matthew Manley to move the chains into the red zone. Fisher picked up a low snap and ran to the left side for the final score of the game! The hard-hitting tackles by the Vikings would wear down the Bears players and eventually lead to the game ending with five minutes left. The Vikings walked away from this game with a score of 46 – 18 as they readied to play three weeks on home turf.

The Tiny Mites West defense stood strong as they battled the Rams in what was clearly a defensive game. Juan Cortez Jr. with an open field tackle. Jayden Pritchett with a tackle in the backfield and a fumble recovery. Zander Svennigsen with a good tackle to prevent a touchdown. On the offensive side of the ball, Tony Salcedo had a key 3rd and 8 conversion for a first down. Svenningsen with an 8 yard run. Matthew Villarreal with a 3 yard quarter back sneak to score. Villarreal also had a 30 yard run.
"I was glad our team made our adjustments and kids went out and gave 120 percent that's what football is about”, said Coach Rick Villarreal.
