Lights On ParadeLIGHTS ON PARADE!!!

We are once again participating in this year's the Lights On Parade thru downtown Hollister!

The parade is on Saturday, November 24th. (Yes, the Saturday after Thanksgiving!)

We are asking that all football players and cheerleaders who are in town on that day attend. Everyone should be there at 5pm. The parade starts at 5:30pm.

Our meeting place is on Monterey, between South & Hawkins Streets. Boys are to wear their WHITE jerseys & girls are to wear a purple shirt with their purple warmups. Bring your Santa hats & other christmas accessories if you have them!

 BAKE SALE ON 11/1 IN MEMORY OF SAVANNA
One of our own Vikings Family has suffered a loss of her child. Our Junior Mideget Cheer Coach, Missy's 5 year old Savanna passed way last Friday.
There will be a bake sale in her honor on Thursday, November 1st at the Target Parking lot starting at 10:30AM to help with funeral costs. We need your help to make it succeed.
We need your donated baked goods, time and/or donations. Please stop by and help a family in need!!!

  1. There will be a $5 parking fee
  2. There will be a $8 spectator Entrance fee for ages 16 & older
  3. No Pop-up tents are allowed inside of the football stadium or Front Parking lot grass. (They will be allowed on the back grass behind the fence of the Football stadium)
  4. There will be a snack shack open, but at this time they are not having boxed lunch pre-orders. So please make sure your teams either have food or bring money.
  5. ALL Teams must have patches on their outfits/uniform when they check in. This is a Pop Warner rule. 
  6. Please also make sure your girls' nails are cut short with no nail polish. This is a Pop Warner rule.

This is a entrance fee that is a mandatory fee for the Jamboree and any play-off game. This entrance fee is a fee from Peninsula Pop Warner and not the Hollister Vikings. This is standard for all Jamboree and Play-Off games.
Normal season games for home and away will be free of charge.
 
***PLEASE NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO PARKING OR ENTRANCE ALLOWED INSIDE THE BACK GATE OF THE FIELD (EVEN FOR COACHING STAFF).

A, B & C will be game fields with A going South, B going East or West, C going North.

Fields A & C will start on the 15 yard line going to the end zone.

Field D will be grass practice field in front of the turf.

 Team listed first will start on offense first, after the 15-minute period teams will switch from offense to defense. All games are 15 minutes offense and 15 minutes defense per scrimmage.

 

Please start on your schedule time. There are 5-minute breaks between each scrimmage. After each division there is a 10-15 minute break to allow teams to warm up. All Head Coaches are to meet before each scrimmage to review rules.

For JP& PW teams there are an odd number of teams so 1 team will have a BYE during each scrimmage.

Team having a BYE please let the kids rest during this time. Watch your times. South Valley will provide a medic and oversee all injuries. If you have your own medic, please advise them that our medic will be in charge but we welcome their assistance.

  • 10 minutes 1st team, 5 minutes 2nd team. Same for defense.
  • Coordinate with opposing coaches when switching 1st and 2"ct teams. This will allow teams to make changes so we are evenly matched. Offense will have the whistle.
  • At the end of each team scrimmage, shake hands and go to next scrimmage.
  • NO pets are allowed on school grounds.
  • NO FILMING. Scrimmages are considered practice.
  • NO smoking or alcoholic beverages are allowed on school grounds.
  • Snack shack will be open. Food and drinks will be sold. Please no outside food.
  • ZERO TOLERANCE! Any coach, player or parent violating Pop Warner Code of Conduct will be asked to leave. A letter will be written and given to Peninsula Pop Warner.
  • Please pick up all your garbage.

First Day of 2012 Practice

Dear Parents,

We are requesting your help in the following matters out at practice.

  1. Please park the furthest away in the parking lot. Please leave the lot closest to the field for the Coaches and Team Equipment Managers. They have a lot of equipment for our players and cheerleaders that they need to be bring on and off the field for each practice.
  2. NO parents are allowed at the Weigh-In area from here on out.
  3. We request that ALL parents please stay off and away from the practice field and teams. This is a safety hazard not only for you, but for our players, cheerleaders and coaches. There are designated areas for all parents and people who would like to watch practice. The 3 baseball gravel areas and outside the fence on the parking lot side are the only points to watch from. You can NOT sit on the sidewalk on Line Street or on the grass area. Also, if you wish to sit at the gravel area on the Northeast side of the field, you are ask to NOT cut through the grass practice area but to walk on the pathway on the East side of the practice field.  
  4. Remember: There is a "lap track" around a couple of sections of the practice field and we ask that you respect this area and not disrupt the players and cheerleaders conditioning.

Your cooperation to the above would be greatly appreciated by all!


FIRST DAY OF PRACTICE THIS WEDNESDAY (8/1)!
Dear Parents,
Our practice site has been marked off for both our football players and cheerleaders. Please respect these boundaries and designated sitting areas.

Observation areas for parent are:
The 3 baseball gravel areas and outside the fence on the parking lot side only. You can NOT sit on the sidewalk on Line Street or on the grass area. Also, if you wish to sit at the gravel area on the northeast side of the field, you are ask to NOT cut through the grass practice area but to walk on the pathway on the east side of the practice field.

The cheer leaders will be practicing on the south end of the field (next to the parking lot). The Mitey Mites will be located on the west side of the field. The two Tiny Mite teams will be on the east side of the field and the Jr. Pee-Wees, Pee-Wees and Jr. Midgets will be in the center.

There is a "lap track" around a couple of sections of the practice field and we ask that you respect this area and not disrupt their conditioning.

At no time is a parent to approach any member of the coaching staff during practice. If you need to talk to a staff member or board member, please wait until all teams are dismissed.

Also, please remember that at NO time is a participant to be dropped off on Line Street.
You must drop off your participant either at the front of the school or using the drive through next to the buildings on the south end of the field. We also ask if parents can not park in the south end parking lot and leave this for the coaching staff as they have equipment that needs to be hauled to the field everyday and would make it easier for them. We appreciate your cooperation on this request.
 
PRACTICE TIMES – @ RO Hardin School:
Practice starts on Wednesday (8/1). For this week, Wednesday through Friday practice is 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Then again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Next week (starting 8/6), practice will go to a regular schedule of 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday.

Jamz Camp – July 14 & 15

Parents and Cheerleaders!

Jamz camp is this weekend, July 14 – 15!

Check in both days is at 8am.

If you have not turned in your money or forms and wish to attend a parent needs to be present to check in and pay at the door.

Camp ends at 4pm.

There will be a parent show on Sunday at 3pm. It is best to arrive early to the show since seats fill up quickly.

Camp clothes should be arriving soon and your head coach will contact you as soon as they are in.

  • The girls must wear comfortable shoes.
  • NO Vans, Converse ect.
  • Hair needs to be pulled back tight in a pony.
  • NO jewelry, NO nail polish!
  • Please bring at least 2 bottles of water and a lunch for SATURDAY.
  • The Board of Directors will be supplying a lunch of pizza for all the girls on SUNDAY!
  • Bring a bag or backpack to keep stuff in.
