2016 Fall Rocket Football



The 2016 Fall Rocket Football program is available to those entering 3rd & 4th grade or 5th & 6th grade for the 2016-2017 school year. We are apart of the West Michigan Junior Football League that is comprised of teams from Byron Center, Dorr, Fennville, Hamilton, Holland, Holland Christian, Kelloggsville, Sailor YPD, Saugatuck, Unity Christian, Wayland, Wyoming, and Zeeland.

*Registration Fee: $50.00
*Fee Goes up to $55.00 on July 18th
* Registration Deadline: Friday, August 5th

* Practices started the week of August 8th
* Game dates: Saturday's - September 10, 17, 24 & October 1, 8, & 15

2016 Youth Flag Football Information

The 2016 Fall Youth Flag Football program is open to Boys & Girls entering 1st & 2nd grade for the 2016-2017 school year. This program is a team format with team practices & games. Practices will take place on weeknights beginning after Labor Day. Games will be on Monday evenings & Saturday mornings @ Quincy Park Softball fields.

* Program Fee: $25.00, includes t-shirt
* Registration Deadline: Friday, August 5th

* Monday Game Days: September 19, September 26 and October 3 @ 6:15pm
* Saturday Game Days: September 24, October 1 and October 8 @ 9:30am

2016 Rocket Football Cheerleading



Rocket Football Cheerleading is ran in conjunction with the West Ottawa Varsity Sideline Cheer team and is one of the most popular programs in the fall for girls.

* WHO: Girls entering Kindergarten - 6th grade for the 2016-2017 school year

* PROGRAM FEE: $35.00, hoodie/sweatshirt included for participant
* Program fee goes up to $40.00 after Friday, August 27th

*REGISTRAION DEADLINE: Friday, September 2nd

* PRACTICES: Wednesday's @ Woodside Elementary from 4:30pm - 5:30pm

* PRACTICE DATES: September 7, 14, 21, 28 and October 1, & 8

* ROCKET FOOTBALL GAME DAYS: Saturday's - September 17, 24 & October 1 & 8
   - No game on Saturday of homecoming week due to homecoming activities
   - Games will be on the field at West Ottawa High School South - with the bleechers & scoreboard
   - Games will be at either 9:00am or 10:30am - time varies on specific Rocket Cheer team

* SWEAT SHIRT DAY: To Be Announced
* PICTURE DAY: To Be Accounced

We will also be possibly cheering for one half of a middle school football game on a date TBA & for one quarter of a High School Varisty Football game at Rocket Night on a date TBA - more details coming about these dates.

2016 Middle School Sideline Cheer Information



For the third year in a row, Holland Township Recreation and the West Ottawa High School Cheer Program will be offering a sideline cheer team program, with coaches. The team will cheer at HOME games only, for the 8th grade games during the fall football season.

WHO: Girls entering 7th & 8th Grade for the 2016-2017 school year

TRYOUTS: Tryouts will be on Tuesday, Setpember 6th & Wednesday, September 7th from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at Macatawa Bay in the cafeteria.

PRACTICES: Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays - beginning September 12 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at Macatawa Bay in the cafeteria.

GAMES: Games will be on Wednesdays beginning September 14 and ending on October 19. 8th grade games will begin right after the 7th grade games conclude, which is at approximately 5:30pm. Coaches will have more details on game day procedures after tryouts.

COST: $80.00
* Fee's include coaches, sweatshirts, t-shirts and other materials
* You do not need to register before September 6th
* Checks made payable to Holland Township Recreation

Concussion Information



A new concussion law for youth participants, parents, and coaches is now a part of the registration process.  Parents and participants must sign a concussion information sheet while coaches must now take a mandatory online concussion training test in order to volunteer coach for any youth activity.  For more information on this law please click the "Site Home Page" tab at the top of this page and then click the tab entitled "Sports Concussion Law" for all of the details.
