2014 Girls LL Divisions and Age Classifications



Girls Little Age is determined by age as of January 1, 2013

  • Divisions of play for the 2014 season:
    • 9-10 years old – Minor League Division...The 9-10 years old division is for 9-10 years old children that are familiar with live arm pitching but aren’t quite ready for the Major League Upper Division.  This division is also for 8 years old children that are capable of handling the next level.  8 years old that play in this division are not eligible for All-Star consideration. This level is basically for third and fourth grade players only.
    • 11-12 years old – Major League Division...The 11-12 years old division is for 11-12 years old children that are familiar with live arm pitching and is basically an 11-12 division but with 10 years old children that are better than average.  10, 11, and 12 years old children at this level will be eligible for Little League All-Star consideration.  This level is basically for fifth grade and sixth grade players only.
    • 13-14 years old – Junior League Division...The 13-14 years old division is for 13-14 years old children that are familiar with live arm pitching and is basically an 13-14 division but with 12 years old children that are better than average.  12 years old children at this level will be eligible for Little League All-Star consideration at the Junior League Division Level only and can’t move back down to the Major League Upper Division.  This level is basically for seventh grade and eighth grade players only.

Additional Age Information

  • 8 years old presently in 3rd grade...By Little League Rules, if you have a child that is 8 years old and presently in third grade and the parents want them to play in the 9-10 years old division, then that child will be able to play in only the local league and end of the season tournament. Otherwise, they will have to wait until the summer softball recreation league to play in.
  • 10 years old presently in 5th grade...By Little League Rules, if you have a child that is 10 years old and presently in fifth grade and the parents want them to play in the 11-12 years old division, the that child will be able to play in 11-12 years old division with any ratifications.
  • 12 years old presently in 7th grade...By Little League Rules, if you have a child that is 12 years old and presently in seventh grade and the parents want them to play in the 13-14 years old division, then that child will be able to play in the local league, end of the season tournament and can only participate in the JUNIOR LEAGUE ALL-STAR tournaments, they cannot drop back down and play in the Major League Upper Division for the All-Star tournament.
