Safety Classes: Hunters Safety Class Information


The Ottawa County Sheriff's Department and the Tulip City Rod & Gun Club will be offering Hunter Safety Classes for 2015. The classes teach firearm safety, platform safety, hunting ethics, hunting laws and a lot more.  The class does involve hands-on exercises and live fire.  Parents are encouraged to come and participate along with their children, however it is not required unless the child is under 12 years old.  The class size is limited to 20 students. 

2015 Spring Class Date & Times are the following:

  • August 11, 12, & 13 (Tues/Wed/Thurs) from 6:00pm to 9:00pm @ Riley Street Fire Station
  • Saturday, August 15 from 8:00am to 11:00am (Range/Field Day) @ Tulip City Rod & Gun Club

The Holland Charter Township Riley St. Fire Station is located near the Northside Branch of the Herrick District Library.  Hands-on Testing and range time will be held at the Tulip City Rod & Gun Club located on 136th Avenue about a 1/2 mile north of Quincy St.  For directions click on the "Locations" button listed to the left of this page. The cost is $10.00 per student.
