Hockey in MiddletownMinutes of Meeting – April 25, 2009  

The meeting was called to order by Bob Doyle at approximately 12:05 p.m.

 

MINUTES – The minutes of the March 23, 2009 meeting were approved.  Accepted by Bernadette Grabowski and Paul Halligan.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT – Bob introduced himself and rest of Board members present to the new parents and explained the functions and purpose of Hockey in Middletown as a group.

NEW MEETING DATE – we are trying something new to see if we can get more attendees by holding the meetings on a Saturday rather than a week night.

TREASURER'S REPORT – Steve Kokulak spoke on the Treasurer's Report.  Accepted by Tina Dickinson and Shari Bose. 

APPLEBEES – Totals have not been reported as of yet.

BAGS & JERSEYS – we will be using a local (New Jersey) vendor going forward rather than an out of state company for our supplies.  This will enable us to receive product sooner as well as be an easier means of communication for discrepancies/revisions.

BOARD OF EDUCATION – 2009/2010 budget has been approved and the Board of Education is going to donate $55,000 toward the program (as they have last year).

GOLF OUTING – Looking for players as well as sponsors.

DINNER DANCE – largest fundraiser keep in mind we will be looking for volunteers for this event.

ROLLER TOURNAMENT – Sign ups are the highest they have been we will have approximately 10 teams.  Tina Dickinson and Shari Bose agreed to run the concession stand and will be looking for volunteers to man the stand as well as cook.  We also need volunteers to store some of the food prior to each weekend’s events. 

TRACK – Flyer almost completed.  Event to take place June 27, with Jacques secured as the caterer for this event.

BOOSTER CLUBS – The South booster club prior to disbanding donated a check for $1,000.  There has not been a donation received, to date, from North.

PARENT DONATIONS – Bob Doyle has sent out email reminders for parent donations to date they are at approximately 75%.

SPRING LEAGUE – Spring ice league games are commencing this week.

CHALLENGER SKATE – mandatory community service event for all players including incoming freshmen.  Patricia DeCicco has made arrangements with The Courier newspaper to cover this event.

OPEN DISCUSSSION – no discussion.

NEW BUSINESS – no new business discussed.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 12:45 p.m. motioned by Tina Dickinson and Bernadette Maturo.
