HOCKEY IN MIDDLETOWNMINUTES OF MEETING 9/24/08The meeting was called to order by President George Felice at approximately 8:15. MINUTES – Minutes from the 8/23/08 meeting were approved. Accepted by Tina Evans and seconded by Barbara Vilanova.TREASURER’S REPORT – accepted by Stan Malamut and seconded by Joe Dickinson. Tom O’Donnell reviewed the treasurer’s report.GOLD COAST ARENA NEW MANAGEMENT – South’s ice hockey coaches are now the new Directors of Hockey at Gold Coast Arena. They are Stan Gutt, Rob Chirillo, and Paul Patrick.CAPTAIN’S CLINICS – Both clinics have started and South had 15 players and North has 16 players. There is still time, however, to sign your player up and have them participate. This is a good way for the teams to start to get to know each other.DINNER DANCE – Sent in deposit for Gibbs Hall for our next dinner dance on October 15, 2008. The committee is being headed by Bernadette Maturo – North and Bernadette Grabowski – South. We will have the same menu as last year and Gibbs Hall charged us the same rate as last yearBarbara Vilanova will be collecting for South’s basket and Tina Evans will be collecting for North’s Basket. Maria Malamut will be in charge of the Candy Basket. Sue Ralph, and Patty Doyle are also members of the committee. Everyone has been asked to donate a $25 gift basket as well.UNIFORMS – South’s white jerseys have been updated and we are now waiting on the blue jerseys. North’s jerseys are okay.JV AND VARSITY SCHEDULES – We are officially in the Shore Conference A and will be playing against CBA, SJV, RBC, and Middletown North. The home games will mostly be on Sunday’s and we should have the same practice time and days as we did last year. JV schedule the games will still be played on Saturday and Sunday. The varsity and JV schedules are still being developed.HOCKEY BAGS – We have ordered bags for both North and South. Once the teams are named we can then put their names and numbers on the bags and have them for Christmas.MODELL’S – We will have our fundraiser at Modell’s starting from the day after Thanksgiving right up to Christmas Day.NORTH/SOUTH BOOSTER - Everyone is encouraged to join the Booster Clubs in the high school that your child attends and to try to attend their meetings as well. Both Booster Clubs have been generous to Hockey In Middletown.COMMERCE BANK – We received a check in the amount of $1500 from Commerce Bank.RESULTS FROM ELECTIONS: President: Bob Doyle North Vice President: Tony DeCicco South Vice President: Steve Kokulak Treasurer: Tom O’Donnell Corresponding Secretary: Tina Evans Recording Secretary: Ellen DeMaio COMMENDATIONS - We want to thank George Felice for his tireless effort and work as the past President of Hockey In Middletown. George you did an excellent job and we know you will still be a very active member in Hockey In Middletown. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 8:00pm.
