HOCKEY IN MIDDLETOWNMINUTES OF MEETING 11/13/07The meeting was called to order by President George Felice at approximately 8:15. MINUTES – Minutes from the 10/29/07 meeting were approved. Accepted by Eileen Guerin and seconded by Tina Evans.TREASURER’S REPORT – accepted by Tina Evans and seconded by Mary Johnson. There was an additional $7,000 that was still coming in from credit card receipts from the Dinner Dance. George Felice continued the discussion as voted on at the October meeting regarding moving funds to CDs. George Felice discussed that we could roll $11,000 into a 3 month CD and then leave it alone. It will continue to rollover. We could move another $30,000 into an 8 month CD with better than 4.0% interest on it. THANKSGIVING FUNDRAISER – which South’s Booster Club, is allowing us to do, could bring in at least an additional $5-6,000 gross. We have already come up with some of the necessary supplies to run the concession stand, however, we are waiting to see if we can get the bagels and coffee donated. At the Thanksgiving fundraiser we will need 8-10 people to man the concession stand, prep, workers and for the cash registers. We need people to attend booster club meetings at both North and South.CORPORATE SPONSORSHIPS – We need corporate sponsorships to help defray costs.DINER DANCE – was a huge success and the committee chaired by Kim Saulnier and Janet Felice were congratulated by everyone in attendance. Everyone enjoyed themselves and Gibbs Hall was fantastic. A good time was had by all!SUPER 50/50 – the winner of the Super 50/50 was Walter Montaigne, he will receive a check for $5,000 and HIM will also receive $5,000.YEARBOOK COMMITTEE – Diana Waltz and Ellen DeMaio chair the committee – The committee met again and we have developed a shorter biography sheet which will be given out to all the players at both North and South. Next meeting is scheduled for January, 2008.JV AND VARSITY SCHEDULES – Varsity games will take place primarily on Tuesday at either 5:00pm or 7:15pm. There will be additional games on Monday and Thursday’s as well. JV will play their games on the weekend on either a Saturday or Sunday. Middletown North and South are in the Shore A Conference and we are playing public schools as well as a few non public schools. For all away Varsity games, the teams will be bussed, which is paid for by HIM.TRYOUTS – They will begin 11/15/07 – All participants must have their physicals in or they will not be allowed on the ice for tryouts. There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Tuesday, November 20th, 6:15pm for North and 7:00pm for South.MODELL’S FUND RAISER – We will hold this fundraiser again this year. 10% off anything in the store and HIM will receive 5% of all orders. It will be held the same time this year. Thanksgiving weekend thru December.DEVILS GAME FUND RAISER – This will be done jointly with MYAA. The school night will be on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 7:00pm in the new Prudential Center in Newark. The cost of the tickets will be $40. The game is the New Jersey Devils vs. the Boston Bruins. Bernadette Grabowski is working on the flyer and seeing if we can obtain additional tickets. This will be a first come first serve.NORTH LOCKER ROOM AT WALL – Sherrie Dean, RJ Kirk and Rich Meyer will paint the locker room. They are waiting for the locker room to be fixed up.
