My Site News: How did the reunion start?

How did the reunion start?
A lot of schools have cross country reunions, including Lyons Township, York and Hinsdale South. The idea for a Hinsdale Central reunion came about in 1997 when Scott Allen ('80), Amy Cox (nee Wimmer)('79), and Mark Carlson ('80) ran a race in Indianapolis. Mark supplied a copy of the Alumni Book and Amy helped with ideas from her home in Nashville. Scott talked to Coach Schlueter and he was very supportive, so Scott sent out flyers for alumni to support the team at the conference meet. Only 4 showed up, but Karen Vaughn ('81) was one. She has been very instrumental in helping with Internet searches, mailouts, reunion set-up and clean-up. For results on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd reunions please see the Leagues.
