High Plains Little League: Spring 2012 Divisions

Softball Minors (Formerly 10U Softball)
The Softball Minors Division is for players 7-11 years old. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 35 feet.

Softball Majors (Formerly 12U Softball)
The Softball Majors Division is for players 9-12 years old. A 12 year old would be eligible to play for the Softball Majors Division and/or the Juniors Division. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 40 feet.

Softball Juniors (Formerly 14U Softball)
The Softball Juniors Division is for players 12-14 years old (a 15 year old player is eligible to play but must not have turned 15 years old prior to Dec 31 of the previous year). The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 40 feet.

Tee Ball
The Tee Ball division is for players 4-6 years old (with a local option for 7 and/or 8 year-olds) who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. Players will hit a baseball off a batting tee. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching. The primary goals of Tee Ball are to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork.

Midgets
The Midgets division is for players 7-8 years old. The Midget division will have a combination of player pitch & machine pitch to the players. This division will place great emphasis on the players' understanding their positions and the basic rules of baseball to prepare them for the Minors Division.

Minors
The Minors division is for players 9-11 years old and is designed for players with less experience to prepare them for the Majors Division. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 46 feet.


Majors
The Majors division is for players 9-12 years old and is designed for more advanced players. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 46 feet.

Juniors
The Juniors division is a program for players 13-14 years old, using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches.
