The Hiawatha Blaze U15g Team was invited to represent all of New York State West to compete in the National Presidents Cup Championship Tournament. We qualified for this distinction base on our four year consecutive Championships in the Broome County Soccer League in '06, '07, '08, and '09. The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup is a national level tourney that identifies top teams from each region to compete for a chance to advance to the National competition.  Although NYSW fell short of advancing, Blaze finished the tournament with a great win in the final day placing us third in the overall competition. Well Done, Ladies!

Presidents Cup Roster: Coach Allison Hilliker, Xan, Sam B., Laurel, Leanne, Shannon, Kelsie, Carolyn, Katelyn, Courtney, Caroline, Ally, Kat, Morgan, Alex, Olivia, Erin and Dana.

BLAZE RAISES $$ FOR CANCER/DONATES TO STRAY HAVEN

Blaze continues to volunteer and donate back to our community. Blaze has participated in “Soccer Kicks for Cancer” raising over $3000. towards the fight for a cure for cancer that was donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

In addition, yearly we have collected and donated items to help out Stray Haven Animal Shelter.  Over the years we have collected enough food/toys/bedding items to donate to fit in three truckloads!  We also take time each year to go in and provide these animals with a little tender care for a day!

ATTITUDE

"ATTITUDE" by Charles Swindoll...
The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on my life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts... It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a team.. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day...for that game. We cannot change our past ... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the string we have, and that is our attitude ...
I am convinced that life is ten percent what happens to me and ninety percent how I react to it. And so it is with you ... we are in charge of our attitudes."

THE BLAZE ATHLETE

There are two sides to a BLAZE athlete...only one side is that awesome soccer player you see on the field. The other side is the player achieving academic success, demonstrating musical and artistic talent, providing community service and being active in many other facets of life.

Keep Striving to be your best ladies!!
