HLL: 2017 Season Divisions
(7-9yr olds) - Minor A is a machine-pitched program using soft core baseballs played on a regular sized Little League field (60-foot diamond).
(8-10yr olds) - Minor AA is a player-pitched program played on a regular field. Still an instructional division, the pitching distance is shortened to 41 feet.
(9-11yr olds) - Minor AAA is the most advanced Minor League program designed to prepare players for the Majors. The first fully competitive division, AAA keeps standings for the regular season and holds a season-ending double elimination tournament.
(9-12yr olds) - The Major Division allows a local league to choose to limit its Major Division to 10, 11 and 12yr olds, or 11-12yr olds. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet. The local league has an option to choose a Tournament Team (or "All Stars") of 11-12yr olds from within this division, and the team may enter the International Tournament. The culmination of the International Tournament is the Little League Baseball World Series, featuring teams from around the globe. All expenses for the teams advancing to the World Series (travel, meals and housing) are paid by Little League Baseball. - LittleLeague.org
(4-6yr olds) - Tball/Coach Pitch is a combined division for children league ages 4-6. Those children in their first year of Tball will hit the ball off a league provided tee. For children who have played at least 1 year of Tball they will have the option to ask for a "coach pitched" ball. This is a learning division. The diamond is 60 feet and an adult pitcher throws a pitch from a distance of 40 feet. There is no score kept. Each team will bat the entire line up each half inning. After 3 outs bases will be cleared but the same team will continue to bat until the entire line up has batted.
(13-14yr olds) - The Junior League Baseball Division is a program using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches. (A modified diamond is available during the regular season.) The local league has an option to choose a Tournament Team (or "All Stars") of 13-14yr olds from within this division, and the team may enter the International Tournament. The culmination of the International Tournament is the Junior League Baseball World Series, featuring teams from around the globe. - LittleLeague.org
