Welcome to Hampshire Little League

Welcome to the home of Hampshire Illinois Little League. We are located in Hampshire Township and are part of Illinois Little League District 13. The Hampshire Little League Program is a nonprofit organization, affiliated with Little League Baseball International, interested in building leadership, learning skills, teamwork and discipline. We take pride in bringing together boys and girls from Hampshire and surrounding areas to learn the important things in life through playing organized baseball. We encourage and inspire good sportsmanship, respect for our community and each other, strong team unity and we are focused on keeping youth sports in it's proper perspective. All our volunteers are dedicated to making your child's experience a positive one.

Baseball, the Great American Pastime, touches our communities, our families, our hearts, our minds, and our souls. Through baseball, all is possible. The exhilaration of success, and the pain of defeat, it is through baseball that life is personified. Hampshire Little League is about more that wins, loses, and learning the game of baseball. Hampshire Little League is about the education of our youth. Through Little League, may they learn courage, loyalty, honor, integrity, and sportsmanship. For in the heart of every child, is the game of baseball.

2009 Fall Ball update

The following is an update on registration for 2009 Fall Baseball and Softball season.

You are no longer able to drop off the Fall Ball registration form at the Cambridge Lakes concession stand.  The 2009 form is now located under the forms section of this web site.  You will need to click on forms in the left hand column, then forms again in the body of the page.  Scroll down the page to the Fall Ball section and you will find the online form for 2009.

Although this is a PDF, you are able to type directly on the form if you wish.  Otherwise you can print it off and fill it out by hand.  The completed forms, along with the $85.00 registration fee should be mailed to:
Hampshire Little League
Attn:  2009 Fall Season
PO Box 566
Hampshire, IL  60140

The number of teams, and number of divisions will rely entirely on the total number of players that register for Fall Ball.  There are some major differences between the regular season and the fall season that everyone should be aware of:

Players will participate at the level they will compete at during the 2010 regular season.  The Fall season is seen as an opportunity to get players ready for the next level of play.
Although all sports are inherently competitive, it is important to remember that Fall is for instruction, and therefore there are no standings, and no tournaments.
Since the Fall season is seen as an instructional season, a team should practice 1-2 times a week, and usually will have 2 games a week.  The games will be on one week day and one weekend.  The weekday games will start at 5:45PM until September 14th, when they will start at 5:30PM due to lack of sunlight.
The uniforms that will be provided will be a jersey and hat or visor.  Please use your regular season pants or shorts.
This year the fall season will start on the weekend of August 29th, and run through October 3rd.  Please know that there will be scheduled games over Labor Day Weekend.  The season is 6 weeks long, and therefore each team will get 12 games.  Practices can start as early as August 3rd.

The divisions that we be held this year for sure are Minor Baseball, Major Baseball, Junior Baseball, Minor Softball, and Major Softball.  If there is enough interest they may be an Instructional Baseball Division as well as a Senior Baseball Division.

All registrations must be recieved no later than August 1st so that teams can be sent to District and uniforms can be ordered.

Should you, or anyone you know, have any questions that this email does not answer, please do not hesitate to contact Aaron Kelly at am2001@sbcglobal.net.
