This is the new website for the 2002 Sparta under 17 boys. The team consists of many dedicated players, coaches and parents. Our player developement program has lead to four consecutive league championships in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001. As a team we advanced to the OYSL the previous season in the under 16 boys division and are looking foward to the opportunity to play in the best competetive league in Canada!!

5 Provincial Players
Geoff Malisa, Jacek Przednowek, Tommy Latocha and Shahin Moslehi. Absent is Rafael Moniz. Having five player from the same team make the Provincial team shows the caliber at which the whole team plays. Great effort to the team!
Team Wins West Niagara
Hamilton Sparta under 17 boys win the under 18 division at the annual West Niagara tourament. The boys had a great weekend to begin the season. Tourny Play Action Shots
The under 17 boys had a great weekend in Philadelphia at the 2002 North American Soccer Championships. This tournament is held annually in different cities throughout the United States. The tournament ran from Jan 18 - Jan 20. After the 3 game round robin all teams were placed according to there goals for and against average. The tournament was enjoyed by everyone the parents, fans, players and coaching staff all are looking forward to next years tournament in Kansas City. The team wishes to thank the parents and fans for there support throughout the week. Special thanks to our Wills Bus driver John Matiazzi for his enthusiastic support of the team during tournament play and his knowledgeable tour of New York city. The players had the opportunity to see Macey's, Madison Sqare Gardens, Radio City and John Lennon's home. OYSL League Champs
The Sparta under 16 boys capture the League Cup by defeating Unionville 5 - 0. Shutout by Joshua W, goals by Rafael M (2), Marco M (2) and Jacek Przednowek (1). The game showed how competetive the OYSL has become over the years. Both Sparta and Unionville exhibited exceptional play. With this caliber of play we can expect many of these players to perhaps represent Canada in the not to distant future. Its unbelievable but there is no entrance fee to see the game.
AIM Tournament Champions
The under 16 boys were champions at the Aim New York Invitational, May 26, 2001. The tournament was a great start for the teams successful season. In game one Sparta over New York Extreme 4 - 0 Marco M (2), Sammy C (1), Jacek P (1), Cameron M Shutout. In game two Sparta over Penfield Rangers 4 - 0. Goals by Shahin M (1), Sammy C (2), Marcho R (1), Cameron M Shutout. Game three Sparta over Michigan Renegades 3 - 1. Marco R (3) HAT TRICK. In the Semi-Finals Sparta over Syracuse Spurs 3 - 0. Goals by Shanhin M (1) Marko M (2), Cameron M Shutout. Sparta then moved on to the Championship to defeat Salfleet 3 - 0. Goals by Arin H (1), Marko M (2), Cameron M Shutout
Brossard Champions
The under 16 Boys win the Brossard Tournament Aut 6, 2001 in Brossard Quebec. The teams win in overTime against Woodbridge Azzurri. During round robin play Sparta ties Halifax 2 all. Goals by Tom L (1) and Jacek P (1). In the second game Sparta defeats Peterborough 6 -0. GOALS by Tom L (1), Marco R (1),Sam C (1), Marko M (1) and shutout by Josh W. Game three Sparta defeats East Fishkill 6 - 0. Goals by Marko R (2), Tom L (2), Jacek P (1), Sam C (1) and shutout by Josh W. During Semi-Final play Sparta defeats Dynamo de-Quebec 6 - 1. Goals by Jacek P (3), Tom L (3), Marko P (1) In the Final Championship game Sparta defeated Woodbridge Azzuri 1 - 0 in overtime. Goals by Jacek P (1) and shutout by Josh C.
London Champions
During Round Robin play on Sept 6, 2001 game one Sparta defeats Tecumseh Warriors 7 -1. Game 1 goals by Jacek P 2, Adrian G 2, Marko M 2, Aaron H 1. In game two Sparta defeats London Marconi 2 -1. Game 2 goals by Jacek P 1, Rafael M 1. Game three Sparta defeats Chatham Eagles 3 - 2. Game 3 goals by Marko M 1, Marko R 1, Tom L. In Semi Final play Sparta defeats Chatham Eagles 3 - 1 to move on to the Champiionship game. Semi-Finals game 4 - Marko M 2, Feff M 1. In the final game Sparta outscores Vaughn Azzurri 3 - 1. North American Cup
The Sparta under 16 boys were championship contenders at the North American Indoor Soccer Championships in Cincinnatti last Feb.9th.-11th. The game results were: Baltimore 3 - Sparta 4, Ohio 0 - Sparta 1, Sparta 1 - Virginia 3. The hard work by the boys got them to the Quarter Finals. The team lost a hard fought game to Internationals 3-2. Congratulation to the boys on a well played weekend!!!
