The West Island Royals pummelled the Verdun Leafs 9-1 in Saturday afternoon play. The overmatched Leafs saw wave after wave of Royal attackers that kept them constantly on their heels. West Island penalty kill was strong and tested regularly as the Royals took 10 penalties including three 2-man down situations. Justin Villeneuve led the way with a hat trick plus an assist. Ireland Kronlov had two goals and an assist, Chris Vlahos had 3 assists, Ryan Ziadie had one goal and an assist. Andrew Nolan tallyed two assists, as did Kristopher Shelton. Charles Lamarre, Andrew Racine and Chris Carriere had a goal each with Max Cardilli adding and assist. Nicholas Joron turned away all but one Leaf shot as West Island out shot Verdun 38-14.
