HOAPW and Pop Warner have three focus points for all participants: Academics, Football and Cheerleading! While maintaining our tradition of teaching proper fundamentals, techniques and sportsmanship in tackle football and cheer squads working tirelessly on their routines and cheers, we would like to mention HOAPW’s commitment to Academics as well! Pop Warner Little Scholars likes to recognize participants’ academic accomplishments.

There are three levels of recognition through Little Scholars:

First Team All-American

Second team All-American

Honorable Mention

All players that qualify are invited to the Little Scholars award banquets; one is for the Mid-American Region and one for the National Pop Warner banquet.   Players that qualify as “All-Americans” may receive scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000 towards college.

This year, HOAPW is proud to announce over 170 “All-American Little Scholars” applications were submitted to the Regional and National levels for the 2009 season. We anticipate that some of HOAPW’s participants will be named “First Team”, “Second Team” and “Honorable Mention” winners!!

Also all Associations have been represented; Blue Springs, Fort Osage, Independence, Kearney, Liberty, Lee’s Summit, North Kansas City, Parkhill and Olathe. A list of participants will be posted.

Keep up the great work and let’s continue to have many more successful seasons at HOAPW!!
