JOIN US FOR A SEASON OF SAILING!

LEARN TO SAIL, RACE OR JUST HAVE FUN.
GREETINGS SAILORS

SPRING IS SPRUNG
FALL IS FELL
SUMMER IS HERE
AND IT’S HOTTER THAN USUAL.

At least now that our week long deep freeze has passed and Spring rains (floods) are once again liquid, it is once again time to make plans for our upcoming sailing season as it rapidly approaches. We will meet on Thursday the 23rd of May at 7:00 PM near the new flag pole and docks on the South side of Holmes Lake. Please note the calendar of race dates and the starting sequence we will be using below. Keep in mind some dates that you would be willing to run committee. Jack Way has indicated that he will not be able to committee this year but Harlan Franey indicated that he will continue to help with committee duties but can’t run the “show”. I will continue to compile and publish the results although I will be out of town on some of the race days and there may be a delay in getting a copy of the results on those weeks. We will have a signup sheet there so we can sign up volunteers to set the course and help keep the times with Harlan. We will also set and collect dues ($20 last year) and talk about any other organizational matters.

Awards will be presented at the annual picnic in September. We will attempt to complete three races on each race day, conditions permitting. The first race will start at 6:00 PM. To qualify for an award you must sail in one half of the races we are able to complete. Races will be handicapped according to current wind adjusted Portsmouth Rating Numbers. DNFs and DQs will be awarded the same number of points as a last place finish but you will get credit for having raced in one race. DNRs will be awarded no points or credit for a race.
