Columbia Neighborhood Swim League (CNSL)

League Objective: The purpose of the Columbia Neighborhood Swim League is primarily an instructional league where participants can improve their swimming abilities. The league promotes the development of strong character, positive attitudes, and a sense of responsibility. The league provides a format in which each swimmer can test his or her performance in actual competition as part of a team in an atmosphere of fun and good sportmanship. It is the coach's job to teach them the sport of swimming and to enhance the level of fun associated with learning. Coaches should help to provide an opportunity for all swimmers, regardless of their ability, so swimmers can have fun and enjoy the sport.

****Please note-in order to meet eligibility requirements to join the team, each swimmer must be able to swim one length of the pool on either their front or back without any type of assistance (walls, lane lines, other people, etc.). Coaches will make the final determination regarding a swimmer's eligibility.

Inclement Weather Policy:

It is the intention of the League to run all meets if at all possible. Therefore in the event of light rain, meets will be run. However, if there are electrical storms, heavy rain, and/or very cold temperatures, the League Supervisor will make the decision to cancel the dual meets by Saturday 6:30 AM. The League Supervisor will then call each head coach and/or home pool scheduled for a meet to notify the teams. A voice message will be left on the inclement weather hot line (410-715-3154) as well as the Aquatics Office voice mail (410-312-6332). Meets will be rescheduled for the same time on the Sunday immediately following the canceled meet. In the event that a meet becomes delayed, dual meets will continue after the delay is over. If a swim meet is delayed to a point where the meet will not finish in a timely fashion upon the opening of the pool to the public, the meet will end. Teams may coordinate with each other as to reschedule the remaining meet events at a later date. Please contact the league supervisor with any questions or concerns.
