On Saturday,
August 20th, Varsity had our first tournament at Battle Creek. The
team worked very hard and showed a lot of effort and spirit. This year we have a
younger team and this was the first time playing on a varsity level team for
most of the girls. Our setters are all underclassmen and new to varsity. They
did a very good job handling the pressure and making smart decisions and plays.
They also challenged themselves by running difficult plays such as X1 and X2.
The setters have already improved tremendously and have a lot of potential.
Overall I would say it was a successful tournament. There was team bonding and
first time court experience. We were also able to make it to the gold division
when in previous years we were in silver. Battle Creek was a wonderful start to
a great season that we are about to have.
