Memorial Day Madness Champions 2009 Monday, August 11 TRYOUTS FOR FALL (2008) & SUMMER (2009) ARE BEING HELD UPON REQUEST The team will compete again in the ASA Gold Division to provide the best competition for our players as well as the best exposure to College Coaches. Due to graduating seniors we have five opening on this year’s team. Among the graduates were our two shortstops, centerfielder, right fielder and pitcher. We are looking for kids who wish to play at the next level, have the desire to excel by playing against the best possible competition. We are particularly interested in a pitcher who believes she has the ability to compete at the next level. Our fall and summer schedule is very challenging with planned tournament to the Colorado Fireworks and Pennsbury. Please call coach Toal at 410-258-7124 or email at ttoal@tgakcpa.com if you are interested and/or have any questions. Also, if you only want to participate in the fall, there is always a need given high school fall sports and dances.
2008 SC Bandits Hot Time Showcase Classic Champs
16U HORNETS PLACE 3RD IN 18U ASA EAST COAST NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP In their last tournament of the season, the Hornets found excellent competition in teams from throughout the northeast. With clutch pitching and hitting, they went on to finish 3rd out of 27 other teams, all of which were 18u teams. What an excellent way to finish the season. Way to go Hornets.
16U HORNETS FINISH 2ND IN PONY NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP The Hornets played great all week, winning the first 9 games and making it to the championship. When that game ended, they were just one run short of becoming PONY National Champions. Go Hornets!
16U HORNETS WIN MARYLAND STATE CHAMPIONSHIP Since every tournament team in the state enters the NSA State Championship, 34 teams this year in the 16u group, it is considered by all to crown the true state champions. Naturally one of the Hornets' pre-season goals was to win it, which they did with superior offense, defense and pitching. After tournament weekend was close to completion but halted due to weather, the pre-tournament guidelines for crowning a champion had the Hornets on top. The post-weekend decision to finish the winners bracket didn't change the outcome, as the Hornets beat the only team left last night to win the championship. Go Hornets! Monday, July 3 16U HORNETS EXCEL AT COLORADO FIREWORKS TOURNAMENT The Hornets surpassed all expectations this past week finishing 9th out of 60 teams. In one of the most prestigious tournaments in the country, they beat teams from Washington, New Mexico, Texas, Illinois and two California teams along the way. Outstanding!!! Monday, June 5 16U HORNETS WIN ROCK 'N' RUMBLE TOURNAMENT With Saturday's games being rained out and knowing the tournament champion would be based on seeding after 3 games, the Hornets came through again. As has been the story so far this year, they dominated the opposition with an overall score of 26-0. In fact after being told while up 5-0 going into the 5th inning of the last game that the champion may be based on runs scored, they exploded with 7 runs that inning and secured the title. Go Hornets. Monday, May 29 16U HORNETS WIN MEMORIAL DAY MADNESS TOURNAMENT Monday, May 22 16U HORNETS WIN MARYLAND STARS MAY MADNESS TOURNAMENT With everyone on the team contributing, the Hornets won all 7 games by a combined score of 41-4 with four shutouts. They played their first tournament of the year as if they were in mid-season form. This should be one exciting season. Go Hornets. Monday, October 31 16U HORNETS WIN BASELINERS HALLOWEEN TOURNAMENT The Hornets played their only non-college showcase tournament of the fall this past weekend, so there was a championship to be had. The team lost 2 of 3 in pool play Saturday with half the team missing due to homecoming events. But that was Saturday. During single elimination on Sunday, the Hornets crushed the competition with an awesome display of hitting, pitching and defense. They were so dominating, the Hornets outscored their opponents 30-2, with 3 runs being the smallest margin of victory. Way to go Hornets! Friday, July 22 14U HORNETS GOLD FINISH 3RD IN PONY NATIONALS The Hornets won their first 9 games before losing in the semifinal game, finishing 3rd out of 146 teams. Way to go Hornets! Sunday, August 7 14U HORNETS GOLD EXCEL AT ASA NATL CHAMPIONSHIPS IN KENTUCKY The 14U Hornets Gold team went to Owensboro, Kentucky for the ASA National Championship Tournament last week. Of the 119 teams from 24 states including Hawaii that were fortunate enough to qualify for this best of the best tournament, the Hornets finished 49th. Only one team east of the Mississippi and North of Georgia finished higher. Go Hornets. HORNETS WIN PENNSBURY MOTHER'S DAY TOURNAMENT After losing the first pool game on Saturday, the Hornets went on to win the next two pool games and all four championship round games to win the Pennsbury Lady Tigers Mother's Day Tournament. GO HORNETS!!! Sunday, August 15 14U GOLD TEAM The 2004 14U team had a record of 65-27-1 and won the ASA East Coast National Championship. This year there will be two 14U teams, with the older team being known as the Gold team. The Gold team's 2005 summer schedule is very exciting with week-long trips to the Fireworks Showcase Tournament in Colorado, the PONY Nationals in Virginia & the ASA Nationals in Kentucky. In addition, we will play in the NSA MD State Championship's (the best tournament in the State) and some other tournaments in Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, Delaware and Pennslvania. 14U HORNETS WIN ASA EASTERN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP The 14U Severna Park Green Hornets finished their season by winning the 2004 ASA East Coast National Championship and gaining a berth to the 2005 ASA National Championship in Kentucky next July. They did so in spectacular fashion by winning all 6 games, which included the last 3 games being an international tie breaker, a late come from behind rally and a 6-0 shutout in the championship game. What a way to end the season, bringing their record for the year to 65-27-1. All while playing a very tough schedule where they went 7-3 in Colorado and 7-2-1 at the PONY Nationals. Congratulations to the players and their families on a great year. HORNETS TO PLAY SOFTBALL IN COLLEGE
Good Job Ladies Saturday, February 12 14U HORNETS GOING TO COLORADO IN 2005 The 14u Green Hornets were once again accepted to attend one of the most prestigious tournaments in the country, the 4th of July Colorado Fireworks Tournament. This tournament only accepts the best of the best and is nationally recognized as the country's largest college showcase tournament. The team's acceptance is largely due to the outstanding year they had as a first year 14u team in 2004, where they finished first in the ASA East Coast Nationals & 17th in the Pony Nationals. |
