While several of the boys have been playing together since U6, the team was formed in the Fall of 2007. The Madrid players, who come from all over the Northern Virgina area, have achieved great success as individuals and as a group both on and off the pitch.
The Madrid is professionally coached by Jose Venegas of Hi Performance (HP) Soccer. Please please feel free to forward any inquiries regarding the GFSC '98 Madrid to Great Falls Madrid Manager or Coach Venegas.

The Great Falls Madrid traveled to Fayetteville, North Carolina from 28-30 January to participate in the North Carolina Triangle Friendlies Soccer Tournament. The Madrid competed against all TFC teams from across the state of North Carolina and compiled a record of 2 wins, 0 losses, and 2 ties. Their record, however, was not indicative of the domination over their opponents. Facing teams that played a very defensive-style game where they crowded the box with all eleven players, the Madrid found it difficult to finish and put the ball into the back of the net. Despite an overwhelming margin in favor of the Madrid in time of possession, shots on goal, and time played on opponents half of the field, the Madrid wasn't able to dominate their opponent in the "Goals For" category. In four games, they outshot their opponents 50-7, scoring only 10 goals while the opponents capitalized on crucial defensive mistakes by the Madrid to score 4 goals. Nonetheless, the Madrid played well together, learned a lot, and most of all, had a ton of fun! Congrats on the successful tournament boys.
The Madrid have been formally accepted to play in two prestigious tournaments, the North Carolina Triangle Friendlies (28-31 January 2011) and Richmond Jefferson Cup (11-13 March 2011).
In North Carolina, Madrid will be playing in the U12 Boys Navy Division against the TFC 99 Cosmos (NC), TFC Cosmos (NC), TFC Sting (NC), and TFC Strikers (NC).
In the Richmond Jefferson Cup, voted one of the top soccer tournaments in the nation, the Madrid have been accepted to play in the Superior Division (third highest). In their bracket, there are two groups:
A) CASL Elite 98 (North Carolina), Empire United SA Blue (New York), and Great Falls Madrid
B) Gaston United Blue Blue (North Carolina), FASA Elite (Virginia), and NVSC '98 Junior Royals (Virginia)
