A game that looked to be well in hand became a little more interesting when the visiting Sultans were able draw to within one run in the sixth but the Eagles were able to stop the Sultans and plated an insurance run in the bottom of the 6th to preserve the win.
Looking to go 2 - 1 in the Grossmont North/South tournament the Lady Eagles jumped on the board early when Na'Tavia led of the 1st with a single and then stole second, Kristen the blasted one of her two triples of the day for the early lead which was quickly followed by an rbi single by Sydney.
The Sultans climbed to within one in the 3rd by taking advantage of an error, which was followed by a single, but they were unable to tie the game when the Eagles were able to get the runner out at the plate on a great 9-3-2 play. This was one of many plays turned in by Jordan playing her first game in RF, as she was to catch everything hit her way.
The Eagles responded in the bottom half of the third with two more runs on back-to-back singles (Roxanna, Sydney) a Sac Fly by Nicole and bunt single by Laurissa that allowed Frenchy to score when the throw was wide.
The Eagles looked to put the game out of reach when the scored tow more times in the 4th with three straight hits by Jordan, Na'Tavia and then a booming triple by Kristen to make the score 6 - 1 after four innings.
Laurissa (pitching) was in complete command throughout the game surrendering zero earned runs while striking out 6 in 7 innings.
